Default I'm really screwing up here....

So I'm what? 5 months out? Something like that and I can tolerate most any food....that I've tried anyway. Sometimes bread hurts me but only for a few miinutes.

I have had a bigger appetite lately, I can eat more but I dont eat near as much as I used to....I can eat about the same amount as a small child.

I havent been too worried about my appetite b/c I am pregnant so I need the food.

Or am I fooling myself?

Now I did something stupid....Last night I was sitting in the ER with my hubby and I got my daughter a bag of Famous Amos cookies...she wouldnt eat them.

Well later I tried one...the whole bag is like 18 grams of sugar so i said one wont hurt me, "wonder what it will do"

I ended up eating 5 of those suckers and not one problem.

why not??

I couple times at work I've had baked cheese-its b/c I was so freaking hungry...and I've been drinking diet soda.

what have I done? is this b/c I'm pregnant? or what is the deal? How come this doesnt bother me?

what can I do to UNDO my bad behavior?

How do I wrap my mind around this again?

I'm seeing collarbones now, they are clearly visible, I do NOT want to lose them again...seriously.

I look NORMAL in the face for the first time since I was like 5....

I feel like such a failure.

what are your thoughts? dont hold back...I could even take some jersey girl love at this point...and a swift kick in the..well you know

I'm only 4 weeks out,but I do recall my surgeon warning me that some people don't dump at all, especially a couple of months after surgery. I think you have discovered that your pouch will not help you avoid junk food, but it will help you monitor your quantity. The key is to break the behaviors, and avoid the situations where they happen whenever possible. The thing I would work on the most is cutting the soda. Remember that the new boundaries to your stomach and intestine are not as durable as the original equipment. Soda could lead you to getting a leak or an ulcer, and that would really be difficult. Talk and keep talking about your temptations and try to think before you eat. This is a great way to talk and so is OA if there is a meeting near you. Finally, see if you can figure out why your returning to the junk food and work on that issue here or with a good therapist.

Good luck with this problem. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Not sure if it is the pregnancy but remember baby needs the nutrients. If your not start journaling so that you are accountable for what you eat. Remember we are all food addicts in some form and yes relapse is part of an addiction. You know that it is a problem and that is the best place to start. If you are finding yourself hungry more often start carrying some healthy snacks in your purse. Nuts, jerky, there is portable single serving peanut butter. If you have it with you, you will be less likely to grab something on the go that isn't good for you. As for the soda, make sure you get in your water first. If you did and the soda doesn't bother you, I don't see why have a little would hurt, consider it a treat, just don't make it a habit.

I usually drink water with lemon at home but found plain water here at work to be less than appealing...so I tried a diet coke one day...I drink it over ice and let most of the fizz dissapate before I drink it and really dont see much difference than drinking Crystal Light or propel, which I hate....

the only issue is the caffeine...and I was told the artifical sweetner could cause snack cravings...

I need to cut it out, I really do...but my pouch not objecting to anything scares me....I had a stricture early out where NOTHING went down...it scared me off almost all food...and then it got better and the pouch kept me within my limits..

now it seems to not have any limits..it allows anything, I cant overeat but I can eat anything I've tried.

I'm scared to death I've screwed up badly...being pregnant has already hampered my weight loss - now this.

I will refrain from what i want to say and replace it with rainbows and flowers, Dont worry about your weight loss or gain right now, just worry about your nutrition. make sure your getting a lot of protein in since it will help develop the baby. you dont need to "eat for 2" as they say but you do need to make better choices. And caffeine is NOT a good choice when your pregnant. Once you've delivered and hopefully found an form of birthcontrol you can wiz on down the road to weight loss again honey
