Default Newbie:AJ (Arthur John)

I had my open surgery Tues. May 17th with Dr. Callery. I also had my gall bladder removed. I had some complications so I was in the hospital till Sat. ug. Went to family bar-b-que yesterday (Memorial Day). That was hard. At my heaviest I was 405lbs.,but officially with the Drs. office my starting weight is 385lbs. Today I'm on my own for the first time, to make my own meals etc... Should be interesting....AJ

Arthur,

Congrats on the surgery date. You will do just fine today. Just remember to eat slow and chew and get lots of water in. Be kind to yourself and take it easy.

Welcome to the other side

AJ,
Welcome to the losing side! Just remember to sip, walk, rest.....repeat frequently! Sounds like you are off to a good start. This is the place to be for any questions you have. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Thumbs up Welcome AJ!

Nice to see you! Congratulations on your surgery! Sorry to hear that you had complications. If you don't mind me asking and for the benefit of others, can you tells us what happened?

45 pounds down, you must be feeling lighter! As Pam said, sip, walk, rest - repeat.

Thank's watergirl, a day after the surgery I was throwing up a lot of blood. They brought me back to ICU and pumped fluids into me double time. They said probubly some stitches came undone or something. They're not sure and I'll never know. They called it an "Event". Everything is fine now, though I gave everyone a good scare. AJ

Dang! Yeah, I'll bet you all were scared. I know I would have been too.

I'm so glad to hear that you are better and are home recouping! Take good care of yourself! Don't try to do much other than the sip, rest, walk, repeat.

Thumbs up

Welcome, AJ

Sorry about your complications but sounds like you're doing great now. I don't think I could have stood a bar-b-que, tho, right after getting home from surgery. Brave man! Good luck with everything and look here to these people for advise. They are all wonderful.
