Ive also had a cycle, it was when I was 5 weeks out. My fertility doctor told me that you only need to loose around 10% of your body weight for hormones to re activate!! I told her that was easier said than done (before surgery) but now i think i may have done that so maybe thats why i had a cycle? Oh who knows anything can happen with PCOS so i think its a case of relaxing and taking things slowly at least until im allowed to try anyway!!

I have PCOS too...I've had symptoms every since I started gaining weight in my mid-20's.

At one point (at my highest weight), I was only getting 2 or 3 periods a year. I've lost 78 lbs since starting pre-op, and since surgery I've gotten a period every 4 to 5 weeks. But, the problem now is that I have 3 week long periods.

I was at the GYN last week, and he wants me to have a D&C to even out the endometrium lining, and fix the bleeding problem. I'll probably be having it sometime in October.

He also cautioned me about using protection, and said it would be alot easier for me to get pregnant now.

Sherry~ Totally understand the periods issues; I'd either have a period for 2 months or not have for in 4 months...was always a "grand" surprise. But of course when I had a period they we so awful! PCOS coupled with endometriosis equaled many surgeries(D&C, tumor removed, endometrial ablation, BC pills, BC injections, blah, blah) and finally a complete hysterectomy at age 39...but luckily I was blessed with two beautiful children (well...now teenagers and sometimes not as nice)...good luck to you!!

Thanks. Honestly, I'm ready for a hysterectomy, but my GYN doesn't agree. I'm finished using these "parts" and ready to get rid of them.
