I go at least 2 times a day. They are fairly soild, just smaller then before. I think I had a BM 3 days after surgery and it scared me at first. I don't have any problems(knock on wood) with constipation. Although sometimes I get to feeling sick and ichy, I think I ate to much, and them a BM happens and its all better. This never happed before.

I had my first one about 8 days after surgery.. then it was every other day or so but now that I've started my vitamins things have slowed. I think it's the iron tablet I'm taking everyday. Iron always seems to stop me up. What's a good daily stool softener someone can suggest? Keep in mind I'm still in puree foods phase so liquid form is preferable.

WLS actually really helped my BMs. Before surgery I always had diarrhea. Now I am very regular. (sounds like a commercial)

I had problems with iron bunging me up until I switched to carbonyl iron (taken with a vitamin C lozenge).

Colace is the stool softener I had to take from day 3 post surgery. It's in a softgel form and is freely available.

Default This is a good thread for me!!!

If solid BM's are coming to me after surgery I wish that I was having surgery tomorrow!!! I too had my gallbladder out and have had the Big D (Hershey Squirt)since 1997!!! I hope and pray that all stops with surgery I'd be soooo thankful!!! I might be able to go out to eat...haven't done that since 1999!!! Drive thru or bring it home and eat cold food...sucks!!! No dates with my husband, no going out for anniversary, b-day's, nothing...it SUCKSSSS!!! I'm praying... come on constipation!!! Bye bye Big D medicine everyday!!!

Default Yes it worked!!!

Yes immodium works when I take it, but it just kills my stomach now when I take it...I think I have taken too much of it in my life!!! he he he I say that like I am old!!! he he he I would usually take 2 at a time and I would be good for that day!!! If you mean to go out to eat and take it before I go...then no!!! Nothing has worked for me for that...my therapist thinks that the gall bladder pains that I had may have triggered fear (panic attacks) in my crazy head...so everytime I go out to eat or if I try to skip a meal...my bottom lets me know!!! He he he who would have thought of that... a fat person afraid to eat!!! he he he I crack myself up!!!

My surgeon told me they prefer me to take milk of magnesia--it helped
