Water..
I have read some disturbing threads here and there concerning the consumption of water after the post op liquid diet period. I love to drink water, day and night. Now i have read several threads where people anywhere from 1 month after to even as far as 2 years after surgery cannot tolerate drinking a bottle of water. Also when they do drink it it must be room temperature. This worries me , i love cold water. So i pose this question to your post op, especially long term post op . Are you able to drink alot of water? Can you tolerate cold water?

I drink tons of water. And I only drink ice cold water. Room temp? Nasty!
BUT
I can only drink bottled water now. Tap water makes me vomit painfully. Seriously.
Tap water tastes like you're drinking pool water through a straw ... very strong offensive taste that will leave you heaving.
Some people here even stick to a particular brand of bottled water, that's how sensitive you can be to it.

Early post op I could only tolerate HOT stuff. The hotter the better. I was told it's because the pouch is healing.
Now, 2 months post-op I can drink as much cold stuff as I want. I actually drink all cold stuff. I drink exactly 64 ounces everyday. I just can't chug like I used to, however I can get in 16 ounces in about 15 minutes if I really try hard!

Well, I am the opposite. I can't tolerate bottled water. I can only do tap or filtered tap.

Yup. But check this out ... I was tossing plastic bottles into the recycle bin at a shameful rate. So I bought a Brita water pitcher. I have to run the water through the filter twice though, it isn't as clean as bottled water (although nobody else notices it but me). It's cheaper and easier on the land fills.
You're gonna have to suck it up my friend.
Tap water hits the pouch extremely hard ... you WILL vomit.

I'm almost a year out and I drink 6 pint-sized bottles of water a day. Tap water has never been a part of my diet (mainly due to the fact that I live in SD and the tap water tastes yuckie!). So I personally buy costco's Kirkland brand of waterbottles. I go through about a case a week at 4.49, but in terms of cost, I no longer drink starbucks at all (at least $20 a week before), so really I'm saving almost $15 a week sticking to water. Then if you take into account that post-op you eat less (and better/healthier foods) and little if any take-out (or dreaded fast food ::boo hiss: it surely will make up for the added expenses of vitamins (about $20/month on average). So cheer up! Happy fun times await! There's someone on here, sorry I don't recall who, but he actually lists how much money he's saved have RNY. =0)

Yeup at first your pouch will be fussy about the temperature of water IT prefers. I'm two years and 7 months and I can drink water at any temperature and as much as I want (or handle).
