Default not losing weight

help
I had the bypass 14th july. I lost 14lbs in the 1st 2 weeks but since then I have only lost 5lbs. Its been nearly 8 weeks since the op and I have no problems with any foods or drinks. I don't have any sensation of fullness the only difference is that my bowel movements have changed. Why would this be, everyone appears to only eat very small quantatities and although i have reduced the amount I eat it is my doing not the bypass.

Default It's normal

We call that a plateau and everyone goes through them, repeatedly. It is frustrating, but should be expected. If you search this site on "plateau", you'll find a ton of helpful information.

hi there.. this is quite common to many here. Your body is adjusting to all these new changes and a stall early out does happen sometimes.

Here is my thread that I first posted in TT in regards to this situation; it might help you feel better. After you read it, see my 'numbers' in my sig. Note that my 'current weight listed' is inaccurate, it's just that I moved recently and haven't had a scale to weigh for a few weeks, LOL. Anyway, this is the post I'm referring to:

Frustrated and Depressed..

Good luck and just keep on keeping on You'll get there.

Default I can't even imagine that!

2 weeks and 1 day out, and I'm wondering if I even HAVE a stomach anymore! No sensation of fullness?

Can we change stomachs for a day so I can have a cheeseburger?

Sorry. BAD Withacy. BAD!

Talk to your surgeon and hang in there!

Default thank you so much

what a great response and so quick. I have been having the concerns of "was it worth it" but it is good to hear that it is not unusual to stall so early on. thank you so much for putting my mind at rest.
I am still rubbish with this site need to get to grips with this weight chart you display etc Thanks again guys

OMG! You sound EXACTLY like me when I was at your stage in this process. I so badly just wanted to be regular for 15 minutes or so... can't I munch on a cheesebuger? Just one bite? Or a piece of pizza?? I'll leave the crust! But, nooooooooo... it has to be permanent, doesn't it!?! FRUSTRATING!

It'll get easier. Your mindset will change. I still want things I can't eat, but it's easier than before. I don't get mad at food commercials anymore, which was a BIG accomplishment for me!

are you drinking your 64 oz of flulids? are you eating? how many calories a day? your body is probably in that famous starvation mode and hanging onto each calorie you put in your mouth. Change things up a bit, EXCERSIZE and drink more than the 64 oz of fluid. the scales will move again for you. the WLS's call these stalls rather than plateaus. Because a plateau is usually when you are at your year time and your body has hit a plateau. At least thats what TerrySimpson, MD's website said a plateau you will have to start to excersize harder to get off and usually your really close to goal but your just in a little stalling period. Yes it happens to everyone

I understand exactly what you are saying--my pouch has only acted up 2x. My son made brownies--my favorite, and he said that he made them perfect (because they are always dry)--when I looked at them, he was right!!!!! Sooooooooo, I helped myself to some WITH MILK NO LESS!! The funny thing about it (NOT REALLY), is that I told myself--if I get sick it is worth it, this is sooooooooo good WELL!!!! I got sick!!! I think that I ate too fast/and drank. . .( it was not worth it ) AND, the other nite when I had some bbq'd burger--not good
I said all that to say, basically I can eat anything, rice, pasta--I do not get a full feeling, things do not make me sick. . .I feel like it is ALL on me, that I am on a DIET.
My surgery was 06/16/08, and I lost 30lbs right away--that is when I really did only eat a tablespoon of oatmeal etc.--had no appetite. . .but, since then food is constantly on my mind. AND, I do push the limits of trying things. As for the stall--it depressed me so bad!! I would come here to read, and look at the weight loss of others, and almost cry. Believe, your body is trying not to be starved. BELIEVE THAT--TELL YOURSELF THAT--UNDERSTAND THAT. For once you start to lose again, you will feel so Blessed . . .so good. . .so "this is truly worth it!!!"
p.s. started off at 257--now 213.8

Wow I don't know what to say. I am holding back and biting my tongue. I just have to ask this, why would you try and eat a brownie? You were given a TOOL to use. It is up to you to control what you put in your body.
