Exclamation Back in the hospital!

Ugh! When will this end? My poor husband called me in a panic at work today. He was having severe pain in his lower back, right side, radiating to his groin area. He was unable to pee since 9:30 a.m. and he said that it was a very dark color. When he called me at 1:30, I immediately left work, called Dr. Callery's office who said to bring him in right away.

We went in and Kelly saw him. She said it could be a few things. 1 - Either he's trying to pass a kidney stone or 2 - inflamed pancreas, (pancreanitis) and to top it off, he is severly dehydrated, even though he has said that he has been drinking a lot of water. She called Pomerado and told us to go directly to the third floor and bypass the ER as there was a 2-hour wait.

I was so upset inside and honestly, acted like a real butt-head to Bill because I didn't want him to be sick and I really was tired of him not feeling well and him not doing anything to get better. (Sorry Bill!)

The nurse he had was so great and very understanding of the pain he was in. The other nurse that attempted to put his IV in, FINALLY achieved putting it in after 7 tries! I think I could have done a better job. He was given morphine, dalodid and one more pain medication. He has fluids pumping into him 2 an hour. When I left, they had him on another iv bag full of vitamins and medicine.

They did a CT scan and made him drink this contrast stuff. The results came back that it is not pancreanitis and the pouch looks good...no constrictions. As I type, they are doing an IVP on him to see if he is trying to pass a kidney stone. His blood work came back with his white blood cells a bit on the high side, but other than that, everything else appears to be fine.

Like I said, the doctor believes that it is a kidney stone that he's trying to pass. I pray to God that this is all it is and he will be able to go home tomorrow. That is what the IVP is for.

Our 3-year wedding anniversary is tomorrow. We had planned to go to lunch at "our" place. It's a little Mexican restaurant. I told him that I could have my soup and he could munch on a taco. We're becomming pretty cheap dates. I think that idea is out for now anyway. I will be dropping the kids off at school and go see him and hopefully be able to bring him home.

Our luck has got to turn around soon. Otherwise, I think the next post you will all be reading is one from Bill letting you know that I have been admitted to the looney bin.

Pray for him please. Please pray that his pain becomes tolerable and that they find out what is wrong with him.

Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement in my other post.

Irela,
I hope everything 'comes out' alright. I passed a blood clot once and thought I would die. As soon as they get that stone out of there he should feel better. My prayers are with you and Bill.

OMG.... those kidney stones are the worst. I have passed 3 of them and they had to go in after one because it was an inch in diameter, way toooo big to come out by itself. Well tell him our thoughts are with him.
