During this period, patients should eat puree and very soft foods. Try these ideas. Get creative!

Bean dishes and soups
Peas
Peanut butter

Tofu (soy) mixed in with soup or vegetables

Baby shrimp
Very soft fish such as sole-or tuna fish!
Chicken or meat pate or spreads, liverwurst

Skim milk
Cottage cheese or other cheeses
Low fat yogurt
Eggs: try two white with one yolk

A big time favorite of folks has been Miso soup, Kim loved Wonton Soup with the won tons picked out!

Really crispy bacon I think you can have too ... I mean real crispy! Sprinkle that on cottage cheese, or add splenda to cottage cheese for a sweet treat....

Hey, I ate the wontons along with the broth. You just use your teeth to puree the food vs a blender.

What about part skim or low fat ricotta? Yogurt? You can flavor plain yogurt with sugar free pudding, like butter scotch, choclate

Miso is the soup you get when you order sushi. It's made with soybean paste, so it has some protein in it too. Sometimes it's served with small pieces of tofu and seaweed. Hot and sour soup's okay too. I like the bite it gives!

When I was soft food stage, I prefer to blend my own veggies. I cooked up green beans, tomatoes, or peas and made my own soups and mush. Add some pepper and butter and it hit the spot. I got one of those Magic bullet blender which made just the perfect amount.

You can always add a variety of herbs and spices to any dish to liven it up.

Is it too early for me to eat scrambled eggs or peanut butter?
So, far I think they are going "down" okay.
I am so confused on how much and what to eat.
Does it get a bit easier?
