Default I need drugs advice! In pain!

Ok so prior to surgery I used Naproxen every month to manage the pain associated with Endometriosis. I can't take the Naproxen since I have had surgery. Tylenol isn't doing anything for me. When I saw my specialist before surgery we discussed some pain management options but never decided which path to take. She mentioned something about a patch and said we would decide what was best after surgery. Well now It's two months after surgery, I don't have a prescription for anything and I am in pain.

I am sorry you are in pain, do you have anything left from when you had surgery, maybe a refill on it? I wish you well and hope you get better soon. maybe call that dr for something? Even though it is the weekend, maybe they can call you in something!!

Default out

I am out of any real drugs from surgery. I used my last bit of pain meds when I had a UTI a few weeks out.

Default surgery

When I had the bypass they doubled up and did surgery for the endo. Surgery has never stopped the pain.

Default You have to be proactive

If I read your post right, it's been two months and you haven't gotten a prescription for pain management of an existing pain condition? A condition you've had doctor(s) treat you for?

Dear, get on the phone right now and leave a voice mail both days this weekend for your treating doctor.
Then call them every hour on the hour when they open on Monday.
Get the first available appointment. You need to ride their ass until you get in and get pain management. We can't help you.
You have to make sure the pain management doc knows of the drug limitations from WLS. Beth knows a lot about this, PM her (Milady). I didn't know about the naproxen limit but glad I do now.

I feel for you, but you need to get proactive okay? Two months is way too long to go without and you must be at the point of screaming or just laying in bed. Why haven't you gone in sooner?

Pgh~ Man...endometriosis definitely sucks big time! The only thing that helped me was to have a total hysterectomy. And believe it or not...when they did my GBS I had adhesions up to my diaphragm. It can easily "grow back" very quickly.

I'm not sure it'll help much...but maybe try Tylenol PM to dull the pain somewhat until you can speak with your doctor and get a prescription filled.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Deb~ As you probably already know...that AMOUNT of adhesions you have does NOT equal the amount of PAIN. Someone can have TONS of adhesions yet have hardly any pain, whereas someone that has only a little can have alot of pain!

This is true.. I often had some cramping but nothing that had me running to my doc for pain meds and it turned out I was completely covered with adhesions.. so much so my surgeon said my internal organs were pretty much all glued together and that's why my surgery lasted six solid hours.

She had to spend a significant amount of time scraping everything clean before she could reconnect my parts.

pgh.. I hope you've called and received some help in relieving your pain.

dunno how much pain you're in, but you can suggest vicodin since its a safe pain reliever for WLS patients.
