Default Super Sleepy!

Hello everyone out there in TT land. I am doing pretty good...well except for the fact that I am ALWAYS tired. I talked to my Doc's office on Monday and they said my blood work from 7/14/08 was ok and they didn't see anything except for my Iron was a little low, but it always is. Anyways.... I haven't been able to get through a whole day without feeling like I was going to nod off at any given time. I went to the Zoo yesterday with the hubby and kids and then it started to rain after about an hour so we left... all I could think was Thank God, because I was so tired. I had SO MUCH more energy before surgery... I could walk at least a mile no problem.. and now I can't. I get my protein in, I take my vitamins, and I Drink WATER all day long... So what the heck is wrong with me? I plan all these fun things to do and go to run errands
and boom it hits me like a ton of bricks and I just need to rest..... any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated as always!

I can't wait to have my life back, I know it's going to be a long haul, but I know when I'm able to play with my girls, not be in pain anymore, and my husband is able to wrap both arms around me and pick me up that it will all be worth it!

have you been tested for sleep apnea?

it can really interrupt the quality of rest you get... I did a test (at a special site, all wired up), and was diagnosed with a decent case of it.. I LOVE my cpap sleep mask now, but I am hopeful that with weight loss the entire problem will go away.

Hi Sarah!

Good to see you posting! Did the docs office tell you to up your iron intake? That could make a significant difference in your energy level! Maybe call and ask them?

I was very very tired for about 3-4 months post-op. My surgeon told me that was not abnormal. Just don't overdo it...it hasn't been that long since your surgery.

But...I have to admit, I am still tired a lot..a year out, and I've had my bloodwork come back normal...so just go with the flow, and get as much sleep as you can at night.

Default Thank you

Mike, hello to you too! I did ask and they said not until the levels drop a little more do they want me to take any added iron.. soo who knows. I'm just worried about when I return to work on the 18th. I'm non stop busy and on my feet 9-10 hours a day as I work in Sales in a retail enviroment. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it. Thank you for all your support!

Question Tired

Hi,

Yes I too was unbelievably tired for over one month after surgery. I would come home from work strip, get into jammies and that was all for me for the day except trying to make myself eat dinner. When I went to my 4 week post op visit I told the surgeon how tired I was, she wrote me a prescription for Nyflex gold which is iron and a stool softener combined. I started feeling better at about 6 weeks out. I also take a multi vit. 4 each citracal +D, a sub lingual B-12, and something called Urso Forte to prevent gallstones. Now I work go to the gym, garden and take of the usual household chores. But I must say I never felt that tired before in my entire life.
