Default Medicine

Immediately after having the surgery I was on the following medication, roxicet (liquid pain meds,) Altace (high blood pressure,) Celexa (anxiety,) actigall (anti gall stone medication,) and what is basically pepcid AC to control the acid levels in my stomach. okay, that's the run down!

So! Once I started to feel better I stopped the roxicet but then I started dealing with a whole lot of nausea! I had no idea what was happening but I was getting dry heaves 2-3 times a day. Obviously I couldn't actually throw anything up since I had little-to-nothing in my stomach, which was almost more frustrating..not almost, it was MORE frustrating than if I could have actually gotten something out of it. So yeah, eventually I decided to stop using my meds just to see if that was the case since I would usually get sick about 1-2 hours after I took them. The day after I stopped them I didn't get sick. I called my doctor's nurse to ask her about it and let her know that I was discontinuing my meds for the time being, and she basically said that it was okay if I didn't use the others but that it would be a good idea to use the actigall... I still haven't started the actigall back up though because it makes me feel SO sick=o( I have my first post-op meeting with all of my doctors this thursday so I'm going to ask them about it but I was wondering if anyone else experienced anything like this? I don't know if the sickness comes from having an empty stomach or if it's something else...like the way my body obsorbs medicine now. None of my medicine says it's necessary to take with food or milk so that's what is kind of throwing me off. I would really appreciated any comments about this! Thanks so much!

I am not sure but for me I had the dry heaves for the first maybe 4 weeks. Also I would get the foamies if I ate to fast or to much. I felt like I had constant morning sickness. All is well now and I started feeling really good at 2 months out.

I would not recomend you stop taking the anigallbladder medicine because I have had attacks and they are no fun.
Good luck,Kathy
