Feel sick in the mornings
I seem to be having some trouble in the mornings. My pouch feels funny, not pain, just funny...I can't explain the feeling, but maybe you know what I'm talking about. My pouch doesn't feel like eating or drinking, and if I decide to anyways because I know I need it, my pouch will grumble and then I will feel even worse for a while. Usually it goes away after an hour or two, but sometimes it takes until evening time. Is this common early out? And on average, how many weeks out before it goes away?

My pouch still doesn't like mornings! It was worse earlier out though. I find for myself if I can get some liquids down it seems to kind of gets things moving. I still can't do anything like eggs in the morning. It has to be something like yogurt, cream of wheat and on occasions it can be cereal.
Try drinking some hot tea in the morning before trying to put anything else in there. It isn't uncommon for our pouches not to like morning and though it will probably get better that feeling of not wanting to eat in the morning may not go away.
Like I mentioned I still would really rather not eat in the morning. I know it is important so I make sure I do get protein in there but usually it is a protein drink or yogurt.

I cheated! I just ate half an egg...3 days early!!! I put a few drops of ketchup on it, and yum. Doesn't taste so good overly chewed though.

I could not eat early in the morning my first 5-6 weeks out. I am fine now, but find I too have to do either a protein shake, or yogurt early in the morning. By about 10-11, I am fine and can eat whatever is next on the menu.
I can not eat eggs after my surgery. I LOVED eggs before surgery, i ate them 3-4 times a week. Now they just taste awful to me.
I was told ketchup in small amounts was ok, but no fresh tomatoes until 3 months.

I only used 5 small half-pea sized dots of ketchup. I will find something else to use instead I guess. I had some beans today. I am officially pureed I guess.

I agree with Beth, try some warn (not hot) fluids, ie: As Beth said warm tea, Decaf coffee with s/f creamer, warm s/f cider, I ate cream of wheat or malt o meal for breakfast forever. Now I prefer the oatmeal packets, but the malt o meal and cream of wheat can be really thinned down with some 2% or skim milk and thus taking it from hot to warm.
I'm really gurggly in the mornings, it's kind of embarassing, but the worst of it's usually at home. The other thing to think about too is that you haven't had anything to eat or drink for 8, 9 or 10 hours, or how ever long from the last time you ate until you get up in the morning. That's a really long time to go with out eatting and your pouch is probably telling you about it. Just a thought. Wishing you the best of luck finding that something that takes that icky feeling away.
Sharon

I have to start the day with a cup of warm tea too and it's usually a couple of hours before I can eat anything.

I also have coffee or tea in the mornings to warm up the pouch! Some days are better than others and I may have to wait a couple of hours to eat anything. THe protein shakes usually do okay.
I think I mentioned this to you before about the peppermint tea, but it does work! I also like some of the TAZO teas, particularly the Red Tea with Apple/Cinnamon. It's excellent, and makes the house smell good -- like Fall. (Thank Gwen for that, by the way, she introduced me to the Red Tea!)
