Exclamation UTI help please before I explode

I have a history of frequent UTI's...1-2 times per month since I was about 3 years old. You do the math. That's over 300 infections. Anyways, I am in a lot of pain tonight and I can't get into the doc until tomorrow but I think I'm going to explode sometime tonight. Usually I am given a pain medicine to take while the antibiotic gets working called Pyridium that is a Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is okay to take after surgery? I am cleared for pills, and these babies are small. Also, I can't drink Cranberry Juice...even the light kind so I thought maybe someone knew a quick at home relief remedy of some sort?
I called the nurse but she can't help me. My contents are under pressure.

Laura, I personally don't see a problem with the Pyridium. It isn't an NSAIDs or a time released med as far as I can tell. You really need to make sure it is ok with your doctor though.

All I can suggest is to keep getting your fluids in. Other than that...I'm fresh out of ideas. I hope you feel better soon, sweetie.

My first comment would be that you need to see a urologist to have your frequent ITI's evaluated. Also, you can get cranberry powder to mix in water at health food stores. I use it for UTI. Feel better, sweetie.

Oh sweetie do I know what you are going through. I get them all of the time. I went to a urologist and found out that my ureter was never fully developed so it had an opening the size of a pin head. I had surgery to try and repair it with no luck. I was given the option to go back in and I said Hell no. That surgery was nothing that I would ever want to experience again. I hope you feel better soon. Get in plenty of fluids and take it easy.
