Default My poor tummy...

Have a question...
For all you post-ops. Being only 4 weeks out I don't know as much as many of you all do. My question is this...am I eating too much?? I feel like I'm eating all the time. I HATE eating, but if I leave my poor pouchie empty long enough it starts to have like an acid indegestion feeling that starts spreading toward my left breast and I think I'm having a heart attack. So I'm constantly eating string cheese, yogurt, turkey lunch meat, chili, etc etc etc...and if I'm not eating, I'm drinking water. I take my acid blocker in the morning and at night...but still. What am I doing wrong?? Is there something wrong with me?? Is this normal? When does it end?? Help!

Brenda,
You may want to buy some gasx gel tabs or even the generic ones. They really helped me out the first few weeks. You would know if you were eating too much. You would be miserable and feel like you got punched. Try the Gas X.

I don't think it's gas though. I have no problem burping (or the other..LOL). It's not a 'gassy' feeling! And a few people have told me that it's because I'm not eating often enough and it's making my pouchie angry.
Any other suggestions??

Post Been there done that

Brenda,

I had the same problem for a couple months after my surgery. I no longer suffer daily from that problem.. every once in a while I get that yucky feeling. You may want to see if they can change your acid blocker or take some other type of antacid. Call Dr. Callery's office and see what they recommend. I still hardly eat a whole heck of a lot, but I do eat more then I did the first couple months. I usually eat once or twice a day now and have a glass of milk as well so I count the milk as a meal.. lol
