I lost weight very very rapid. I was ahead of my game the whole time, down to goal in 7 months. Here is the deal, all the post ops around my time, we all had different weightloss, mine faster than many, but I will say this, at the end, we all skidded in at the same, either at goal or within a few pounds at a year post op. I am actually 5 pounds from Dr. Callery's goal for myself, he said 119, my all time lowest was 121 pounds at 11 months post op, now I can't hit that again, but I maintain between 124-126 pounds, I have gone down to 122 a couple times, but for the most part I get on the scale and it hovers there.
You don't have anything to worry about if you are working your program to the best of your knowledge. If you are cheating early post op, like drinking liquor, eating sweets, or drinking soda, etc, you are hindering your progress, so dont come here nagging about the slow weight loss. I am not pointing at anyone, I don't know, don't really look at it, I just see that too many post ops are drinking alcohol then whine about not losing weight. BS, work that program, get up, get off the butt and on the program, you have 6 months for rapid weightloss, you can help it by working the program or you can slow it down by not working it. It is all up to us, we cannot determine if we are slow or fast losers, but we can determine our longterm success.
Do not compare yourselves with others. If you do, you will be disappointed. The immediate goal is to wake up each day and determine that you will work your program. I know some do not exercise, (me) but I did in the honeymoon period, oh yes I did, I worked my program, I worked it hard, and well, and long! Cheat early, suffer later.
Just my thought. Keep your eyes on your program and not on others.
Hugs, and best of luck to all of us for success and long term success.

Even at 2 1/2 years out i still don't realize my true size. I will pick up a pair of pants that is my size and think to myself...oh gosh i hope i can fit in them. In my head i am still big, but then i look in the mirror and think, oh thats me, fhew, i am ok.
I guess it just takes time, I know I am getting at being more aware of the real me. Hope this helps.

My weightloss is also slow, this post did me good! Makes me feel better and less stressed about it. I mean, how can I be eating so little and still only losing a couple pounds a week. I would have been a famine survivor for sure.

Julie, hon, give yourself some time, first of all you are still healing, and some risidual edema may be left, your weightloss has not caught up with you yet. It will, relax and trust me okay? Do not worry about the weight, that is the least of your concerns, the concern is to keep yourself hydrated and walk at this time. Nothing else should be more important than that at this early time. 19 pounds in 22 days? That doesn't appear slow to me.

Burn Burn Burn
Not eating enough can slow your weightloss also. remeber you have to feed your body in order for it to burn, uptake your calories and I bet you will see yourself dropping pounds like crazy! I have always ate 5 times a day religously, since being allowed to eat until now. 5 small deals away, keeps the pounds away! Good luck all!

Yes, Bridget, have to feed the fuel to burn. I always did eat frequently, I ate very little but I ate 4 to 5 times a day, and I hear thats the way trainers want their clients to eat. Considering that I used to eat once a day, every day all day long, this was a totally opposite way of life.

Ok, this will make your eyes roll.....
I know ya'll wanna slap me I had thought a 3 lb/week average weight loss was slow. However, I was within a few pounds of goal by 7 months. Now, I'm starting to think it's quite possible that I might not stop. Of course, I'm sure all this stress is contributing to lack of appetite I've had the past few weeks. I force myself to eat 4-5 times a day, but it doesn't seem enough. I can still can only take in about 1/2 cup of food at a time. I'm drinking water constantly (peeing too ) I'm not exercising regularly, just using the Bowflex 3 x week for 20 minutes. Arghhhhhhh!
Be careful of what you wish for, you might just get it!

That is the way I was, and I was totally scared, and my family was scared for me. That is why I say I feel better at 125 than I do at 121. On our small frames, even a few pounds makes a difference. Melanie also was scared she wouldn't stop. That is when I turned to Ice blended mocha frappuccino, I have never been sorry I stopped my own weight loss, although sometimes I wonder if I hadn't where I would be now, maybe dead or under 100 pounds. Slow down, read the pouch rules for dummies, do the opposite if you are scared. THIS TOO SHALL PASS!
