Default I ate gumbo

I had gp on 6/16/08. I guess I do not know what I am suppose to not do because of what reasons : ( : ). . .last nite I had the broth from some gumbo, the celery and okra. Was this something that I am not suppose to do? My surgeon from the University of Chicago Hospitals told me that I could eat the meat from a Taco Bell taco, soooo, I had the gumbo. Also want some spinach. HELP

I had my surgery on 6-17-08.. I was told absolutely no celery, no spinach, no lettuce... none of the stringy green stuff until AT LEAST week four. So for us that wouuld be in a few days. Just try to stay away from breads, pasta, and hard to digest veggies for right now. I do a lot of chicken, sf jello, sf pudding, sf popsicles, fruit, SF yogurt, scrambled eggs with cheese (make sure you chew good)...my hubby uses V8 juice in his which is an awesome idea if you like V8...unfortunetly I don't...These are just some ideas. Just make sure you drink TONS of water, as much as you can choke down.. get your protein in there at least 64grams a day is what was recommended to me.. take your VIT. and Calcium. I hope this was helpful....if you need anything let me know..I'm sure we can help each other out seeing we only had surgery one day apart!

I can't wait to have my life back, I know it's going to be a long haul, but I know when I'm able to play with my girls, not be in pain anymore, and my husband is able to wrap both arms around me and pick me up that it will all be worth it!
