Default Every time I eat something

...no matter what it is I get this heavy feeling in my chest. Its not the pain like something is stuck. I am 5 weeks post op and this has been going on for the last 2 days or so. It is not painful just a uncomfortable feeling like my whole chest is full. It even happens if I only have a few bites of something. I am on regular foods and seem to do ok but the last 2 days. Any thoughts?

Are you drinking before, during, or after eating? You may have gas. I also have that feeling sometimes. I walk around the house and it stops.

No, I wait my 30 min before, during and after. I dont know if I am eating to fast or not chewing good enough. It just feels like my whole chest is blocked with food but without the pain. I have had something stuck before and it was really really painful but its not like that.

Both, my surgeon and nutritionist, said that a lot of people will feel a slight pressure in their upper abdomen when they are full. You've probably just now started to eat enough food to get that "full" feeling.

Not sure if this helps, but I don't think its anything to be worried about unless its causing you pain.

I'm 3 weeks out and that's how I feel when I'm full or taken one bite too many, especially with the denser proteins like chicken and cottage cheese. It's not painful, just uncomfortable and in my chest area.

Sounds like you are full, strangest feeling ever! I never knew what that was until I had surgery. The others were right! You need to make sure that you chew everything REALLY well. It needs to be practically a liquid when you swallow it. Also wait a little bit after you swallow and "feel" it will help you to figure out when you need to stop eating. Even one more bite can produce that feeling.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! Congrats!

Do I really want to be normal?? Having some body issues. Don't want to be too thin.
