Question Neosporin on incisions???

My main incision is still not healing like the others. It's not infected, but there's a big scab b/c my skin isn't level, so there's a little opening. It's right on a fat fold. My doc just said it'll heal in time (this was at my 1 week post-op). I'm just afraid it'll get infected or something. Do you think putting Neosporin on it would be okay? Did anyone do this?

Thanks!

I don't know about the neosporin. If it were me I would call my docs office to make sure. Maybe someone needs to look at it. I had open RNY so I'm not sure how the lap incisions are supposed to heal. Maybe someone else will chime in.

My doc said absolutely no Neosporin at all for three weeks. The best thing to do is wash it well with gentle soap and keep dry. After three weeks, Aloe Vera Gel would be the best thing for it.

Hope this was helpful.

My doc said absolutely nothing but soap and water. Just scrub it good.

Thanks, ladies! I'll just keep washing with Dial soap. No Neo for me.
