Default Poo Issues.. SORRY

Ok... I am 5 weeks today. I am still having some issues "going". It had been 4-6 days I would go without a moment. But then I had to force the "issue" with lax or enima. Now I finally get the urge to go.. but when I do.. it is like every 3 days or so.. and I still am "giving birth to the poo". Very difficult to pass at first. ??? Is this ok? Normal.. I know it is kinda of an icky subject.. but.. I need some help!

Keep in mind that you have very little volume going thru your body. Keep the fluids going so you don't get constipated. But if you're not putting much in, there's not gonna be much coming out.

Default Benefiber!!!

I have been using Benefiber for weeks now - it mixes into whatever you're drinking with no flavor, etc. I add it to my one cup of coffee in the morning. It definitely makes a difference!

Most GB patients have some pooing issues. Best thing you can do is make sure you're drinking your water and getting lots of fiber in. If that's not enough, you'll have to do a gentle stool softener a couple times a week.

Protein makes a "big" difference I've found and most definately keep the water coming.

I did note that when I was still on my liquid pain killers no matter how much protein or water it was just not happening so I had to take some Milk of Magnesia and that usually helped things move right along.

I have this as a very chronic problem since my surgery.. (used to be the opposite, and carried imodium with me everywhere)..

One thing about adding fiber.. if you're not getting your fluids in, this will only make the painful poo problem worse.. BTDT.

I'm instructed to take sennekot as needed... but because I'm loathe to take extra meds, I sometimes go too long before I take it..

This past weekend was very busy and I ended up with extremely painful BM this week.. felt like birthing that 10 lb baby I had years ago.

I've upped my fluids again.

(and before someone asks.. I also eat at least one container of yogurt with live, active cultures a day.. and I take a probotic.. not helping a whole hellava lot!)
