Default Pooooo

I went a week without going and was feeling fine, but I asked a friend if it was o.k, and was told to call the doctor because I could have blockage/twist/etc.

My question is how many days without a movement do people wait before taking something? Any advice on food choices to assist? I am on week 9 after bypass, and I am trying to introduce new foods slowly.

Thanks

My Dr recommends adding flax seed (ground) to foods to keep his patients regular. I am a week or two ahead of you and havent had any issues though. I drink close to 100 oz (most of the time more) of water on a daily basis so I am sure that this helps as well.

I usually in the beginning waited 2-3 days. If nothing by the 3rd day I drank some Milk of Magnesia but trying to drink the liquid protein really helps out here as well.

That and your water or Crystal Light drinks. You have to also consider the meds. you may still be taking. They could also be causing you to get backed up.

Call your surgeon anyways and let them know, see what advice they give. They are the professionals.
