Off-Topic...we watched this documentary about Dolly Parton fans on one of the cable channels one afternoon...I'm not THAT big of a fan--those people were scary. I wasn't sure of the angle of the documentary, I could see a little comedy, but I thought it was really sad for the most part--some of these people had no lives except following Dolly around. If it's on again, and I don't remember the name of it, you have to watch it...it was fascinating.
Mike, I saw the special as well and was just as equally amazed. What a man that you didn't mention the other two big things about dolly- Her hair and her smile

When I used to have low blood sugar problems from not eating enough (we lived with the MIL from hell for a year) I would have a bit of juice or cola real quick, but you should make sure with the doc cause of the surgery of course.

I have dealt with low blood sugar for years. Make sure you are eating small meals throughout the day this will help maintain your levels. A little bit of peanut butter and a cracker or two should help. They make the jiff to go cups and I keep them at my desk.

Mike,

You really should get this checked out Mike. I typed "gastric bypass low blood sugar" into Google and it brought up several references: Low blood glucose levels may complicate gastric bypass surgery, study shows

Now, listen to your Auntie Corrine and get your butt off to the docs!

You know what else works REALLY well? Apple juice. I have had better luck w/it than OJ.....OJ usually gives me heart burn, but I still love it so!! SO yes, apple juice it up!! (although hopefully you won't need to!!)

BTW...something my dad does (he's TYPE 2)....keep a little box/can of apple juice in the glove box of your car...just in case! Never hurts, right?!

I called the doc...he said to monitor it and I'm going in for a physical when we get back from the beach.

I googled it, like Corrine said, and came up with having to have my pancreas removed. All medical information should be blocked on my computer. If I don't have something, just the sheer mention of it will cause the symptoms to start appearing!

So glad you called the doctor, Mike. 35 is really low!! Keep monitoring it and make sure you eat frquent small meals. I know some people who have to be eating every 2-3 hours just to keep their blood sugars up after wls. It is better to eat high protein, low glycemic index foods. That way you won't spike your blood sugar quickly. Usually if it is a higher sugar food it will spike quickly but also drop soon afterwards.
