Default blood pressure readings... worrisome?

I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd pull it out in hopes that some medical people will see it... here is the part I had this AM:

Geof & I have been really busy these last three days but I did get three BP readings...
7/3 @ 11:30 pm 134/92 with a pulse of 76
7/6 @ 8 am 117/87 pulse 76
7/7@ 6:43 117/85 pulse 72

I'm wishing I had another nighttime reading as that first one is high, but I kept forgetting to take the readings.

Geof is packing now to leave for VT but maybe I'll have him leave it till I see him next week.. hmm

(he left it so I'll take a few more nighttime readings. Am I being overly concerned on this?)

Edited to add the reading below... which might be high for a reason.. I'd just put the cuff on when my college aged son called to let me know about some money 'issues' after avoiding me for a week & a half..(he lives full time there not at home which makes it oh so easy for him to avoid my calls)

Anyway, I figured it would be high but with a number like this would you be calling your doc about possibly being put back on meds?

It was 149/92 with a pulse of 74 just a few minutes ago.

I'm not a doctor, but I play one on "All My Children" (look for me, I'm the hot young one who doesn't wear any clothes under her labcoat)

Anyway ... I don't see any problem, except for the last one. That one seems a bit high, but what was going on with you when you took the last reading? Were you stressed? Did you just mow the lawn? Perhaps you just watched the latest episode of "Swing Town"?

Kel, I need more info before I give you my firm and 100% valid diagnosis.

Well, the pulse is okay. But the two high ones are worrisome. Do you take BP meds?

LOL.. well, Julie.. you know that issue I just told you about in the PM regarding my dearest firstborn? I had JUST put the cuff on my arm when he <finally!> called and I took the reading just as I got off the phone with him so that was why it was high then or so I thought!

I just took it again and it's higher! 146/84 pulse 86.. so I guess I will have to call my doc tomorrow and ask her about going back on the meds Dammit it all to hell.. instead of 2 steps forward, one step back.. I feel like I'm doing it backwards... one step forward, two back. Add to that, the big stall on weight loss, the horrible, horrible constipation issue and I'm just feeling like a WRECK tonight

I think I'm gonna throw myself a big ol' pity party tonight. Sadly, the only snacks allowed at this party are sugar free popsicles.

I took them Pre-op but have been off of them for a long while now.. Maybe prematurely?

Ironically, I was taking the readings as I thought I might be too LOW.. causing the dizziness and lightheadedness. I was always on the low side before I had diabetes.

well i am thinking that maybe now you are worrying about it and making it high. maybe you should just relax for a bit and try taking it later and see what happens.

Did your Doc direct you off them? Or did you just take yourself off? I'd let the doc know b/c you may have been taken off too soon. Don't mess with that BP!

No, I didn't take myself off of any of my meds, I was directed to do so as things improved.

My blood sugars are still great, and maybe txmom is right.. I've sort of got myself upset over the money issue with said son, and I've worried myself sick of that, plus the worry over those numbers and it doesn't help.. at the same time, if I can 'worry myself' into such high numbers, maybe I should be on something.. I was so happy to be off all those medications too.

Julie, you are way too funny girl. But Kelly, try relaxing for a while, maybe a nice long bath with candles and such, and then take again. If still high, please call your DR asap. Can't be having you getting all sick and stuck on us. Most of your readings are borderline, so I would keep checking them.

Can I come to the pity party?

I've got sugar free chocolate.

The blood pressures that you posted were about where mine were pre-op and I was on BP meds. Like other's have said, maybe it's just stress...but I'd tell the doc too...and I hate having to go to the doctor so I'm not saying that lightly.

Maybe you and I can go to the doc together...think we could get a group rate?
