It never hurts to get the doc's opinion. Has your BP just started to rise since 7/3 or did you not monitor it before that? You seem pretty vigilant so I would guess you are on top of it. I guess I am wondering if it has only been elevated less than a week and not constantly elevated if you really need meds or just need to wait and see. Call the DR and ask his opinion.

The blood pressures that you posted were about where mine were pre-op and I was on BP meds. Like other's have said, maybe it's just stress...but I'd tell the doc too...and I hate having to go to the doctor so I'm not saying that lightly.

Maybe you and I can go to the doc together...think we could get a group rate?

Aw Mike.. you're certainly welcome to come to my party..

I'm glad you're gonna call the doc about your numbers.. that is a dangerously low BG number!

No Jane, I don't normally monitor my BP anymore.. I guess I should've been! I loaned my monitor to my sister who also has medical problems since I wasn't using mine.. but since I have been having problems with dizziness & light-headedness I thought perhaps I might be having too low of a BP so I am borrowing Geof's (fiancé)

So.. the last reading of today is low... compared to earlier.. REALLY low..

112/80 pulse.. 69.

ugh... that makes me worry more... seems to me meds could send me too low but those high numbers scare me...

My "mother-out-law" had two strokes at age 55 and has spent the last 15+ years paralyzed on one side of her body and I don't want to end up like that!

Okay, the doctor is in the house ...

My first diagnosis is "Mother Hen Syndrom" ... take 2 tylenol and a nap next time your son exhibits poor money management skills.

Next, take 2 red M&M's and a nap the next time you worry about your wedding.

Then I want you to check your BP again after watching a Jonny Depp movie of your choice, but just make sure your breathing returns to under 20 per minute before you check it.
If it's a little high, call your doc in the morning.
If it's a little low, call 1-800-HOT-STUD to bring it back up to normal.

Good luck Kel, and don't hesitate to call again ... I'm always ready to share the latest in quality health care
(oh, and um, my bill will be arriving in the mail shortly)

Kel, I would just call and let the doctor know what your readings are. Let him/her decide if its reason for concern. Let your doctor know ALL of the readings that you have. I strongly suspect because you are seeing some variance, your doctor will just tell you to keep an eye on it. But you really should leave that ultimate decision to your doctor.

I was off blood pressure meds for awhile and then had to go back on but because my pulse was SO low...like 30's they wanted to try me on something that wouldn't slow my pulse. It took awhile of playing around to find that magic med. I stayed on it right until my plastic surgery. I figured I was a "lifer". Guess what? Getting rid of all of that heavy loose skin from my abdomen brought my pressures down to normal. I now am off the BP meds again.

So don't let it depress you. Just keep yourself healthy and safe...and call the doctor!

Beth, thats very interesting about your abdomen and BP. I have (still) a big belly and i would have thought my BP would be down to normal by now after loosing 58 pounds but nope still the same i wonder if its my belly helping it stay high

These readings are kinda freaking me out now!

Last night at 10:45pm...

94/78 pulse 74

This am upon waking- at 6:40 am

136/81 pulse 74

Is it normal to have such wildly different readings throughout the day and most of us are just unaware?

How does a doc know when it's appropriate to medicate or not based on the swings between high & low??
