Default Still Feeling Icky......

Ok, hi, everybody,

Thought I'd try to get in a little update. I went back to work on Monday. So excited!!??! Doing ok, everybody has been wonderful, missed me to pieces. But, I am still having trouble eating. Nothing sounds good to me, and I'm still feeling icky. Today I'm getting a pain on my lower right side (don't think appendicitis).

I thought I was feeling bad because of constipation. Sorry, TMI. But eating mostly cheese will kind of stop you up. I really do try to eat but............blah!! I quess I just wanted to hear it's normal, I'm only 6 weeks post-op, so what do I expect.

Thanks for listening.

P.S. I'm also not the kind to call the doctor or go to the E.R. unless seriously in pain!!!!!!(which has never happened, knock on wood )

Default Cheese

I say stop eating cheese for a little while, and see if that helps. When I was first post op I coulnd't eat cheese because it made me feel bluh. I have no problems with it now. Try some meat to get your protein, and then maybe you will be able to go potty. Just a suggestion.
I hope that you feel better soon. C-ya on the 11th.

I'm feeling the same way, Anne! My surgery was 3/30/05 and I came back to work Monday too. I have good and bad days (and moments) and food is just blucky right now. I think we are on target though! I keep hearing that from everyone so I'm starting to believe it! I tried a little bit of a baked potato today, which was very good... maybe you'd like that?

I felt exactly the same way with food in the beginning. Nothing tasted good or even sounded good. Hopefully that will change quicker for you than it did for me. Best of luck!

Try some yogurt. I found not only is a good source of protein, but it helps get "good" enzymes in your intestinal track to help moove things along!
Glad to hear you are doing so well!

Drink some coffee if you like it. I drink it everyday and it sure helps to un-stop the guts, and of course....drink lots of water.

Another thing you can do to fix the constipation is a tea called "Smooth Move". You may have to go to a health food store to find it. Just don't do it the night before you have to be at work the next day. Your co-workers won't appreciate it. Good luck!
