Unhappy pain, pain and more pain

Well just when I thought I was doing so well, yesterday at 3:30am I woke up feeling sick, almost like I hadn't eaten for days, so my husband got me a sugar free fudge bar and it went down alright and didn't make me sick, but the pain was ever so real..... As the day went on I thought I was going to pass out with the pain, At 12 noon I was able to get an hour nap in, but when I woke up my pain had moved to a whole new level. I was taking my medicine like I should but I don't know what happend. When I woke up I had soon realized I couldn't move with out excrusiating pain, the kind that makes your body shake in fear. I was crying and the more I cried the more it hurt and the more it hurt the more I cried, it was just aweful. I called my pcp, they made me call the 911, I was taken to the hosp. via ambulance. While there the pain steadly increased, by this time I couldn't breath but shallow breaths, cause the pain was so intense. I was there prob. about an hour before they gave me a toradol shot and also a shot to stop spasms. The toradol helped some, but when it was time to move on the cot or toilet ect... the pain would come back strong as ever. Now I am at home with what they decided was Acute spasms of the stomack. Well it is 5:am and I can't sleep cause of the pain, I can't take anymore meds for another hour and I have been up for the past 3 hours in pain. Not to mention I feel sick again, but am on a liquid diet. Oh when is this going to pass.

Suezq,
I'm sorry you're in so much pain. I never had any of that so I don't know how long it will last. Hopefully not very long.

I am so sorry for your pain..... please get well soon. I have been wondering how you were doing. Did you contact your surgeon's office?

Default JEEZZZZZZ Girl!

I'm so sorry you're going through something so painful. What causes stomach spasms? It sounds very painful.

Suezq,

If you are still in so much pain today I would call the doctor back. Have you called the surgeons office? There may be something related to the surgery that they can address. Just a thought. I am so so so sorry to hear about all the pain. Please don't stop contacting your doctor. Continue to call them until the issue gets resolved. They may have missed something.

Love ya and only want the best for you!!!!

Arrow Call the Doctor

Sue:

Keep calling your doctor. Don't let the pain go on without someone helping you. Excruciating pain is NOT normal--it's the body's signal that something is amiss. I've learned the hard way that you must be your own health advocate. Who cares if you're bothering your surgeon...that's what he/she gets paid for! Keep bugging the doctor until something is done to ease your pain. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

By the way, this is the first time I've heard of stomach spasms after WLS.

That is exactly how I felt when i had pancreatitis..... have that checked out. I got to a point when I couldnt eat at all with feeling sick and then eventually getting sick! It was the worst pain of my life!!!!! Check it out lady, you should expect to be a lil uncomfortable after WLS, but never in pain!!!!! It felt like labor times 20!!! It was hell! Have your pancrease checked out, they can do it by a simple blood draw..... keep us posted sugar pea!

My dear friend I am so sorry you feel so bad. I have to agree with some of the others-CALL THE SURGEON ASAP!!!! You need to get him to take a look at you. I know it's a long drive up there especially when you feel so bad, but he really needs to evaluate this. The ER is only there for short term care and to stop the pain. I will give you a call on Friday to see how you are doing. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!!!

Love and Hugs!

Question Are you going?

To see your surgeon? I haven't heard anything like that on the forum either. You really need to go to the ones who know what up in your body. Hope you haven't posted today cause you are on your way there.
Good luck and get well fast!
We're all praying for you.
