Default Puke Monster.......

Blah........

I started back to work last week. It is kind of embarrassing. I have vomited everything from egg, to cucumbers and carrots. I did not notice that I was doing this prior to returning to work. I am wondering if my reactions are related to stress.

Even more embarrassing I go out to lunch with the other managers. I am nibling on carrot sticks and cucumber slices. Within the time frame that we were eating lunch I was to the bathroom losing my lunch.

But, then when I am at home in my own space I can eat without reaction. It is kind of frustrating but I have no choice but to deal with it.

I am just worried about the reaction of vomiting to my teeth.

Blah.......

Maybe you are eating too fast. I notice I do that at work... wplf down my food and then Im a hurting unit... a couple of times I had to vomit... but for the most part I try not to. Slow down. Chew well. I bet thats the problem.

Red face Eating Too Fast

I agree with Bridget. I bet you're eating too fast. Remember, you have to eat very slowly in the beginning and you have to chew your food to a liquid pulp. Slow down, girlfriend!

I do the same thing at work. I only have a 30 minute lunch and I come home and try to eat and go back to work and get sick. I got sick in front of 6 people last night in the parking lot. I'm trying to eat before work and then when I get home, but I get home at 1 am and I'm not hungry. plus, I don't want to eat and go to bed. I'm also uncomfortable eating in front of people other than family. I guess we need to slow down and change our schedules to accomadate this new life we have.

I had the same problem, but in reverse. I could eat at work, but when I got home I couldn't keep dinner down. Still happens every now and then. What I ended up doing is I take a Gas-X before eating (about 15 to 30 minutes before). Seems to help a lot. I talked to Kelly and Dr C about this and they said that as long as I was keeping some food down not to worry about it. Good luck with it!

Thanks for your input. Sometimes it is difficult and helps to talk about it with others that have been there. The individuals at work have not experienced it so I try not to disucss it with them.

I do hold food down. But, lunch seems like one of the roughest meals to keep down. Maybe I am eating too fast or the fact that others are sitting around me maybe I am not chewing as well as I should.

Thanks for the support sometimes it feels good just to vent to others that are living with the same conditions.

Melanie,

I noticed when I am eating socially, that there is a social pace of eating. This pace is much too fast for us and usually includes conversation, stress, etc.

I know it is difficult, but try to focus on the amount of food going in and how quickly you are swallowing it. I chew alot and always have piles of food to toss at the end. Restaurants always serve more than us staplers can consume.

The pay off is grand!! Be patient!!
