Wink What To Expect.

Hello!
I had surgery on 5/6/2008, and so far I have lost about 6 pounds a week. Today is week 7 -- I have lost only .10 ounces. Does the weight loss slow down this soon? I thought I would keep losing 6 pounds/week for at least 3 months.

I have lost .10 oz this week. I havent' changed my eating and my exercise is consitant/ water in is good/protein in is good. I have been trying to add weights to take care of the loose/areas. Am I at a plateau? or am I just having a slow week.

What should I expect for weight loss in the next weeks/months? Is this it that I am going to lose after going through everything?

Thanks for your comments in advance. And by the way, I have been a lurker until now and I really like your forum.

THanks

Jazz

Thanks Cindy!

I went through them and read and I feel better, but it is hard to let go of the fear of the surgery not working, just like every other diet. I am going to put the scale away like the thread suggested. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks and I will let them weigh me at that time.

Thanks

Judy

Good choice, Judy. As you can see from all of the threads that Cindy posted this happens to pretty much all of us. You aren't alone and you certainly aren't the only one to be afraid that this surgery won't work. And those were just a few of many, many more posts just like yours.

I'm glad to see you are putting away your scale. It is one of the best decisions you can make for yourself.

For myself I was averaging about 10-15 pounds a month. I had it all planned out when I would reach my goal. My body thought differently. It took me an entire year longer than I 'planned'.

So put that scale away and just concentrate on following the rules set up by your physician. I know you are in a hurry but the weight didn't come on over a matter of months and it won't come off that fast. This isn't a race. Just enjoy the process, embrace the WOW moments (Keep looking, they are most certainly there), embrace the changes that you need to make in your life so that you can be healthy....and then celebrate the next time you get on that scale in a few weeks.

It will happen. I promise. As long as you keep following the rules it will happen. In the meantime celebrate life.
