I really do like the flavors & texture of their multi... and the flavor of their calcium is the best I've tried. I had an issue with the calcium tablets breaking up in the bottle, but we're going to try a second bottle as he says that hasn't been a problem they've seen so far.

At this point, I would also recommend giving them a try, in any case.
Kel, I'm so glad you contacted them. I actually recently discussed your complaints with Vic the CEO and he told me to make sure you contacted him personally, if you were comfortable with that. I have to tell you that I am so impressed with him and his passion to do this right. He honestly wants to make the best vitamin out there for us and wants to make it as cost affordable as possible. He honestly wants to know what people think of the Celebrate Vitamins and customer satisfaction is HUGE on his list.

Did you ever try the Twinlab chewable calcium? I just ordered it to try. Some say they are sour and taste like sweettarts. Sounds good to me! LOL

I found the them OK but having to take 8 a day (I'm on 2,000mg) was just too much. They were sour.

NSI have some decent chewables (from vitacost.com) NSI Calcium Citrate -- 120 Chewable Tablets - www.Vitacost.com

The ingredient list identical to the Twinlabs but it's a little cheaper - $9/99/120 chews for the NSI, $7.62/60 wafers for the Twinlabs.

Personally, I like to ring the change when it comes to calcium. Right now, I'm using Bariatric Advantage lozenges (chocolate and cherry), my beloved Citracal Creamy Bites (which I hoarded a stock of before they stopped production) and Citracal tablets.

Corrine, I talked to Vic the CEO from Celebrate Vitamins about maybe seeing if they might consider making the creamy bites that so many of us loved. He assured me that they are in the process of developing new products and that variations of calcium are especially on the top of the list. He is convinced that Calcium deficiencies is the sleeping giant when it comes to wls and he is determined to have several forms of it to account for the different preferences of patients. So keep your eyes open. He told me that as they developed new products he would send samples my way and that he might even consider using my support group as a test group. His passion really shows and I'm excited to see what else he has up his sleeve.

BTW, feel free to email him directly with any questions or concerns regarding Celebrate. I promise you will hear from him!

Vic and I have had a few email exchanges - I'm really impressed with him, the company and their products. He was kind enough to send me a big box of samples for the Madigan group. I'm a convert for sure.

On the calcium thing, if what I hear is correct, Bariatric Advantage are bringing out the Creamy Bites later this year. When Bayer bought Citracal, they chose not to continue with the Creamy Bites - Bariatric Advantage took up the option. I don't know whether the formula is going to change. Sadly, I understand that they're only going to be available through Bariatric Advantage's website.

Yeah, I heard that BA was coming out with something. Not sure it will be enough to convince me to switch from the Celebrate. Like you, I am very impressed with the company and their products. Vic seems determined to do this right and that is what impresses me the most. Glad to hear he was willing to send you samples. He sent me a big box too for my support group and the people there were also impressed. Good news for me is that my bariatric practice will be recommending these vitamins and will be carrying them locally after they move in November.

I'm almost 3 months post op and I'm only taking the regular Centrum once a day. I hope that's enough. My PCP is having me take a blood test in December so I really don't know how my levels are. I asked my surgeon and he said that Centrum was good but next time I see him I'll have to see if I should take it twice a day.

For me, the flinstones are only for one week, the second week post-op, two a day. Once onto the third week we're on the adult vitamins.....

The most recent guidelines recommend 200% of the RDA.

This is outlined in this document released ealier this year: http://www.asbs.org/Newsite07/resources/bgs_final.pdf

The whole article is worth a read but the bit on vitamins and minerals starts on page 7.

Check that your surgeon's/NUT's guidelines meet these recommendations and if not, print out a copy to show them and ask them.
