Default Vitamin E on scars - how soon?

I am six weeks out. Is it too soon to start using vitamin E on my scars?

My 3-week post-surgery document said it was OK to start using creams on the incision sites -- mine healed nicely, so I don't need to. I'm sure at 6 weeks it's perfectly fine.

You should be just fine to use Vitamin E or even just vaseline at this point. At six weeks you are past the point where infection to the incisions would be a concern. I was told that pretty much anything that helps add moisture to them will help reduce scarring so no need to explicitily use vitamin E.
