In regards to the protein a couple suggestions I have is you can buy something called Stacker 2 at Meijers. It will be in the pharmacy area and it has 20 grams of protein in a bottle. There is a lot of volume but at least you can get in some protein. The other thing is that I can get my hands on protein supplements from my surgeon's office that are not milk based. My favorite is a fruit drink made with water. Let me know if you would like me to pick some up.

I do drink either unflavored or strawberry Unjury protein with crystal light and will be trying decaff coffee and either vanilla or chocolate Unjury later today. Thank you for those suggestions and offer to get the protein supplements...but I don't need them.

LOL I don't know how to do the little box around the person who I'm commenting back to but that last post from me was in regards to MiladyB.
Sorry for that. I'm so new at this and really am learning as I go along.

hehehe...no worries, Sandy, I knew it was for me. If you would ever like to try something new in regards to protein just let me know. When you are getting on solid foods I can get my hands on some pretty good protein bars, wafers, soy crunchies (sweet and savory flavors) and soy nuts. All have 15 grams of protein in a serving. I actually still use the protein product myself. It is great when I'm out on the run.

The surgeon who did my surgery strictly uses the protein product for the 2 week pre-op and 2 week post-op diet. I liked using it because I didn't have to think much. I just had 4 packets of the protein drinks and I had in my required protein for the day.

I'm glad the Unjury is working for you. I've tried it myself and it really isn't too bad and it is made from the kind of protein that we absorb the best. So it is a great choice.

For the chewing cravings try SF popsicles. Those will kind of help that craving at least for awhile. I know its hard. I was SO READY to chew after that 2 weeks postop and I just couldn't get one more of that protein product down me....so yeah, totally understand how you are feeling, right down to the food dreams. Many of us had those especially early out.

Just hang in there and I promise to hang with you too. Its easier if we don't try to hang alone.

Thanks Beth! I would love to have some of those things for once I can eat. That would be really convenient for while on the go. I have to young kids (Corrina is 8 and Joey is 5) so we run a lot. I really appreciate it!

Good Luck and hang in there it will get easier.
This is so GREAT that you can stand to watch the food network - I'm hooked on it. I never make the recipes, but to me it's entertaining and relaxing to watch. That is weird! I was hoping I would be able to still watch it.

You know I watched the Food Network too. *L* My DH just couldn't understand how I could do that to myself!! He thought I would find it pure torture. I didn't....kinda strange, but maybe it is true that we first eat with our eyes. I was just enjoying myself a feast...just not doing the actual eating part!
