I have not worn a swim suit in over 8 years... I finally did on vacation and the feeling of confidence was awesome but then I got so burned as those parts of my body has not seen the sun in over 8 years... did any of you have moments like that where you had a triumph but then at the same time you body forgot how to handle....

Good for you for getting out there! Sorry you got burned. I too got burnt not last weekend but the weekend before and I'm still peeling. We went fishing for about 6 hours during mid day. My sun screen is old and apparently didn't work.

What I would suggest is to go to a tanner and do a few minutes every other day or every 3 days. This will build a base. It obviously will not keep you from burning, but if you have a base then you won't burn as bad. I also use SPF 45, but like I said, I have to buy some new stuff. I left it in the boat over the winter and it just has lost it's potency. Lesson learned. Hope you're not in too much pain. Try some aloe vera gel to sooth and cool if you're still burnt and in pain.

Sharon
