hehehe...well it looks like Miss Tina there already gave you my spiel. *L* Yep, I didn't buy a scale until I was a year postop. Now at 2 plus years I'm weighing every day but I most certainly don't recommend that at all during your first year. During that first year I would weigh at my support group meetings which happened twice a month. They are at my surgeon's office and we can hop on the office scale. So that's what I would do, plus weigh in at my doctor's appointments. Not having a scale at home took the temptation away to weigh myself daily because believe you me, I would have. I would actually have been on that scale several times a day and it wouldn't have been a good picture at all for my Psyche.

The advice that I always give people who are early out is to gage your success on how you are feeling. Are you feeling better? Can you walk further than you did 2 weeks ago? How are your clothes fitting? If you are in smaller sizes go and try on a pair of your preop clothes. It will be quite the eye opener a couple months from now. Make sure you keep one preop outfit but only one! I kept my work scrubs...size 5x!! Today I am in a small and a size 4/6 pants. So yep, this surgery works and you CAN do it! But this isn't a race just take the time to enjoy the scenery along the way.

Keep up with those monthly pictures, take your measurements and watch those drop use those kinds of things to gage your success and just send that scale packin' for now.

You are looking great girl! I haven't tossed my scale...but I have cut back dramatically on how often I jump on it. But it does get rather depressing when you get into the dreaded "stall" and nothing seems to work...except TIME! Yup. Time is our friend. We're feeling better and just have to keep reminding ourselves that in TIME that weight will be gone and we'll get on the scale and then pick it up and give it a great big hug...'cause eventually...sooner or later (and in some cases later than some)...we'll get to our goal...or somewhere near enough to be satisfied.

In some ways a stall can be for our benefit in that it may encourage us to look more closely at what we are eating, drinking or how much we should be exercising. OR...even when you are doing everything according to "the book"...it is just a matter of TIME (do I keep saying that? Yeah. I do)!

We just have to keep this whole process in perspective and not obsess about numbers; even though they make us feel good. At least as they're going down.

Man oh man...that was a crazy post. Past this old ladies bed time for sure. Hang in there. Hug...the mums

Wow! Jessica - you look great! So glad to hear you are feeling well...I sure wouldn't be worrying about a stall...Consider it a little rest. Good for you.
