I am almost 3 years out and have had no problems at all. I hope it stays that way!

I had Lap RNY on 7/13/04 and haven't had any physical problems. I had surgery on Tuesday in San Diego and visited Sea World on Saturday. Yes, I was sore and tired, but as my doctor said, "don't act like you are sick" so I went and had a lot of fun! I loved the first 6 months when I didn't think of food very often and I couldn't eat much.......the problem I have is now that I am "normal" (whatever that is), I can eat pretty much what I want and I can eat more than I should so I have gained a few pounds, but I am in control once again! If you allow your new tool to work for you, it will do it's job. Don't eat too much and eat protein!! You will do fine! It's normal to second guess a big decision like this. On the day of surgery, I was able to stop taking all 9 medications that I had been taking for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, etc. It's an amazing journey to get healthy and feel so much better about yourself.
