Shame on you Deborah! Even though you are going to take this to the doctor's with you, you know that you are not the same as everyone else. The information is going to depress you because you are going to feel like what's wrong with you!

There is nothing wrong with you and you are going to lose weight the way your body wants you to. Just do what is needed to help it along and you'll get there.

From what I remember, you are doing quite well.

Don't do this to yourself!

As I said in the other thread, Deb.. I'm only down 40% and I'll be a full six months post op on the 29th.

If as you say in that other post is that 'most' lose 60 - 80 percent of excess weight in six months, that means there are those of us that fall either higher or lower than that as well. Do I wish were weren't on the slow losing end? Yeah.. but give up- NEVER. I'm still better off today than I was nearly six months ago and though this journey is taking longer than I want, I have to have faith that I'll get there.

I have faith that you can too.. we just get to spend a bit more time till we get to the REALLY hard part.. maintaining that loss.

I am down 85lbs at 5months. At my 3 month appointment I was told I have lost a lot more than most of their patients at 3 months out. I have noticed my weight loss slow down since that appointment.

Deborah, I've gotta be straight with you here...asking this question is just as bad (or worse) than jumping on the scale everyday.

You are an individual person...you're not the same as the people you are asking this question of. Everybody is going to lose weight at a different pace, depending on their sex, age, metabolism, beginning weight, etc.

Please stop torturing yourself over this. Yes, definitely talk to your doctor about your personal rate of loss, but please don't compare yourself to other people who are NOT in your shoes.

You've totally confused me then.. I don't understand what you mean by the above sentence?

I've lost only 40% of my excess since my surgery so far.. you said you've lost 50%.. so though I've lost more lbs, percentage wise you're way ahead of me.

And really, other than the fact that I feel we're on the same slow path, we're still both WAY better off now than six months ago, aren't we?
