Deb,
You know I just love you to death, right?!
I just feel bad that you're doing this to yourself. I wish I was at your place tonight, we could cook, talk, hug, talk, and talk all night long!

I know you know this already, but at my 8 week appointment I lost 60 pounds. I have no idea what I weigh right now, and won't know until my next appointment in the first week of July (4 months out). I can say that I went into the hospital wearing size 26 jeans. I now wear size 17 in juniors (similar to size 18 in womens I think.)
BUT ... I'm also losing my hair like CRAZY!!!
I can tell you, I honestly would rather lose slower and NOT go bald!!!

PM me with your phone number ... I will call you asap.

Love,
-Julie.

Default 50%

Debrah, I am confused.
Have you lost 50%of 136 pounds?
If you have girl that is Damn good I think. Especially if you are at a stall. I have been stalling too but you know at least we are not getting bigger. Maybe you should go treat your self to something nice. No not food something like a pedicure or a movie or a new blouse. Something that will get your mind off of the number you weigh and put a smile on your face.
I'll be thinking of you and hugs from sunny (hot) California!

DEB, focus on this from Dyann. She is a doc. Beth lost most of hers after the 6 month mark. This is what I am looking at. If this is what God wants, then I must go with the flow, as he knows what is best for me. I have prayed my skin will bounce back like an 18 year old and I think that is why I have lost so slow. God knows I will never be able to afford plastics and is giving my body time to work on itself I pray. Please stay focused and we will all get through this together.

Sweetheart it makes me so sad that you're doing this to yourself. You've lost 58 lbs in 6 months. Do that again... and guess what.. 116 lbs in a year lost!!!! OMG, would you have ever been able to do that without this surgery? You've done amazing!! Don't downplay your success... everyone's body is different. You will get to goal, it might just take you 18 months instead of 12 months, but you will still get there and you will be so so so so glad you didn't give up. I know you can do it!

Default Slow and steady woman

Hey - we aren't all jackrabbits. I am what my surgeon calls a "hard loser". I work out like a maniac, do things that would work for most, but here I am...I have not gained anything back and am still on my way down.

I am about to hit my 2 year mark and I've lost 135 pounds. I don't think that is too shabby, but I will eventually hit my goal. That is a fact. I've had to totally change my routine like, 4 times. The last one started this past Saturday and guess what - it is working.
YOu know, the tool works - but as my surgeon said, it is 20% surgery and 80% us. Our bodies are the way they are. Mine is always on a knife's edge between starvation mode and too many calories. No room for error. So am I gonna cry about it? No - this is what I have to work with, so I keep working with it. AND I get better at it too.

So just do what you need to do. Be sure you're eating enough - balance being to hard on yourself with being nice to yourself. There is a way. YOu'll find it!

I'll be 6 months post-op next week and I've lost 70lbs since surgery day (but I use my high weight when I tell people how much I've lost so 87lbs) BUT! (see there's a but) I just had another surgery to remove my gall bladder and before that on those painful attack days I wasn't eating so I think if I had had less "bad" days I wouldn't have lost as much. And I can attest to the hair loss, it's awful.

It will come off! You're doing great. Just follow your food guidelines and you'll get there Oh, that was my other point, we all have different diets which effect our weight losses... and the way surgeons perform surgeries (how small the stoma is, where the jejunum is connected etc) contribute to weight loss as well so you're normal even if it doesn't feel like it.

I lost 100 lbs at my 6 month point. At my 3 month follow up, I had lost 43% of my excess weight, so I'm anxious to see my percent lost at my 6 month appointment (next week - my actual 6 month mark was May 28th).
