45-60% of EBW lost is where most fall. I was at about 45% at six months and 95% at a year. I did not lose fast, but I was a consistent loser. The timeframe for the weight loss is 2 years. I think the more important question is where is everyone 5 years after their surgery??

My dear Deborah..."Don't Worry...Be Happy"...la la la!!

I think that we are very much alike in our weight loss struggle...even with our "helper"...SURGERY! I too get in some pretty annoying stalls, but my scale numbers are not going UP; so I try to think positive about a slower weight loss.

Do not give up hope sweetie. We shall persevere and we will eventually lose the weight. My doc says that most of his patients, if not all, get very close to their goal in a 12 to 18 month time frame. That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Believe me, I know it is hard not to compare yourself to the other "losers" on this forum. I find myself pretty envious of the fast losers, but know that my body will do what it has to do in the long run, as long as I stick to my post-op regime.

Then again, I tell myself that if I lose the weight at a somewhat slower pace, perhaps my skin will have more time to shrink wrap itself around my new body. Oh hahahaha!

Sending you a HUGE HUG...the mums

I'm so sorry you are upset! I know I would struggle with it as well. But I would just tell myself that I am better off than before. There's probably no way you would have lost even the 3-4 lbs per month before surgery. And those of us who get saggy skin will envy you since yours has time to shrink up. You have lost weight that you would not have been ablt to lose without the surgery and are continuing to lose. It will all come off! You'll get there!

I don't know what the percentages are.

I lost a total of 250lbs but, that was after plastics. Pre plastics was more like 243-245ish lost.

At 6 months I was down 175lbs so I guess what is that exactly?? 70% of total goal?? 75%??

anyhoo..

Oh John, LOL! Every time I see your numbers I just go You're like the original guy who broke the curve on this surgery -- incredibly, completely impressive, but not really gonna be helpful in a comparison of results.

Deborah you know I'm rooting for you. Honestly, I think it is AWESOME that you've already lost 50% of your weight! As you've already seen, that is a very competitive result. I also agree with the suggestion that the more helpful numbers would be to know how many people keep 60-80% of the weight off after 5 years, rather than 6 months.

I lost 120 pounds at 6 months.

What is this going to prove to your surgeon honey? Your different that all. Remember my post to you about the different reasons why ppl lose at different rates. Are you taking those measurements?

Wait a doggone minute.. if in general people only lose 50 to 80 percent and you've already lost 50 %.. how is it that you're not average? I guess that is where I'm lost!

Deb, I do so wish I could be there and give you a big ol' hug... not that it would necessarily help, but I would feel better anyway ... {{{HUG}}}
