Beth, some people will do ANYTHING to lose that one remaining pound! <giggle>

Seirously though, I'm relieved it is getting done, and wanted you to know that I have never had any ill effects from having no gall bladder (removed in 1995).

HUGS!

Nyn.. the only lasting side effect that I can directly pinpoint as being from losing my gallbladder is that I had VERY loose stools the entire 26 years post-op... my mom & my sister also suffered similarly after they had their gallbladders out- (and note, neither of them have ever even hit the 'overweight' category on the BMI scale so it isn't always due to being obese and rapid weight loss)

Since my RNY though, I have the exact opposite issue, and it is a major problem for me. Weird, huh?

awww, I love all of you guys. I'm honestly close to tears here. I've got such a wonderful TT family!!

My surgeon is planning on looking all around while he is in there, Nyn. He doesn't want to miss anything. Basicaly the op permit is an exploritory lap and removal of the gallbladder.

He still has a mild concern about a possible internal hernia. I actually have pain two very different places. The one is between my belly button and sternum...which I KNOW is the gallbladder, it hurts when I press even lightly there. BUT I also have pain to the left of my belly button that comes on when I feel kind of constipated and need to have a BM. It tends to go away after I finally pass stool. That pain has been an on and off again thing for a few months but it seems to be getting a bit more frequent and intense. No hernia showed up on the CT Scan but that doesn't mean it isn't there. Surgery will be able to tell for sure.

...hey already have an ulcer, gastritis, bumb gallbladder...why not go for the homerun with a hernia too!!!

And YES miss KELLY!!....my TT daughter, it IS ALL your FAULT!!!

.....enjoy the beach!

awwww thanks, Dave....You're so sweet. I can tell you that I am SO ready to get rid of this pain. It certainly is getting more persistent with each passing day and requiring vicodan instead of just tylenol to get it under control.

*sighs*

well I'll be heading for surgery in just 48 more hours. I can do this...I know I can. Just gotta breathe through the pain. Sheesh...reminds me of when I had my daughters!!
