Many of you know that I've been having a lot of abdominal pain for the past 3 weeks (I blame my TT daughter, jerseygrr! :P) and after a scope, ER visit and CT Scan it was found that I had some minor gastritis, an ulcer and a bad gallbladder.

I had an appointment with my bariatric surgeon this morning and that inflamed sucker is coming out Monday afternoon. I'm so ready to be over this pain!

I'm totally thrilled that my bariatric surgeon will be doing the surgery. Even though this doesn't really fall under bariatrics he explained to me that he likes to get in there himself so he can get a good look around. He wants to make sure we aren't missing something like an internal hernia. I know I couldn't be in better hands....despite the pain and the surgery...this is really the best case scenario possible.

I'll have my friend Luna post after I get out on Monday. It won't be until later in the day and he is unsure if I will have to spend the night or not. It just depends on the time of day and how I am doing.

Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, please? I'm still in pain but at least there is an end in sight.

*hugs*

Sorry I haven't been on much but I am ultra worried for you and I hope all goes well and you are back with us soon.

Please do keep us informed.

I'm so glad you're getting it taken care of Beth. I'll be thinking about you Monday.

And...I'm hoping that you have a really heavy gallbladder.

Thank you everyone SO much for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes. I'm sure it will go just fine I just want to get out of this pain. It's pretty bad again tonight. I ended up leaving work early because I hurt too bad.

Oh Beth, I hope that you aren't in pain till monday!!!

I am ahead of you on time, my surgery is 12:25 so I will pray and wish you luck in the AM.

I am not having any pain from the hernias today, hope that lasts all weekend.

I feel the same way you do about my surgen Dr Gluck, he is the best and wants to do the surgery, because he knows just what he did when he did my bariatric surgery, and doesn't want anybody else messing with his work! I want to ask him to take a good look around while he is in there and see how things look.

I hope that you can sleep tonight and not have too much pain.

Ann

Ok Beth, you can have this surgery, get rid of that naughty gallbladder, but that's it. LOL. No more surgeries! (((snuggles)))

Ask your surgeon to look around nice and thoroughly while he's in there. I asked my surgeon to do that during my RNY so I could make sure I wouldn't ever, ever need any more but he just chuckled and rolled his eyes.

So, Dr. Dyann says that you won't miss the gallbladder...there are no effects from losing it? Do you need to eat differently afterward? Guess I'm still curious about all this... Take care sweetie!

Beth,

I hope it goes easily for you and that you don't have too much pain.

I hope your recovery is fast!

I am glad you have your surgeon looking after you. I have the same degree of trust in my surgeon and I feel much better knowing that you are being looked after by your specialist.

All the best
Laurie
