Default My mind is slow catching up

I will be 7 months out tomorrow and cannot believe that I have dropped from a 28 to a 10/12 depending on if it a dress or pants. My brain seems to be slow catching up with my body. the other day I bought two size 10 dresses at the thrift store. Looking at them on the hanger I thought those would never fit me. Guess what both did. I just don't see myself that small yet. I had somebody call me a liar about my size today. I told her she was jealous and was more than welcome to check my tag.
It has been so long since I wore a 10 that I just can't believe it.

I have the opposite. I have a hard time seeing myself as fat as I am. I would always by clothing 2-3 sizes too small. I'm so excited for the time when my body catches up to my head.

Red face It's bizarre...

I'm not near as small as you, Katy, but I did the same thing last week after the clothing exchange in East County. I brought home four pairs of jeans (courtesy of beautiful Bridget!) and went to try them on the next day, and was immediately depressed when I saw how small they were! I wasn't even going to try them on, but then I decided to torture myself a little bit more and stick a leg into them, just to prove to myself that they were too small. Well, they fit perfectly! It's only a change of a 28 to a 22, but it still is hard for my mind to wrap around yet.

I'm going to see my therapist this morning and I'll ask her if she has any suggestions for this kind of body dismorphic syndrome. I think it's pretty mild, and mostly is related to the fact that wls ensures that you lose weight at a very fast pace and our heads have trouble keeping up with our bodies.

Anyway, Congratulations on your success! Give yourself some much needed credit for what a fabulous job you've done!

Been the same for me lately too. My friend brought over some jeans that didn't fit her anymore...they were 22's. I looked at them and said, "They won't fit" she told me to try them on...so I did...and they were a touch TOO BIG!!! Trippin' me out, for sure!!!

Smile Aye Aye I Have The Same Problem

When I shop I always go to the big size first hold it up and then realize it's too big. Then I look for the 14/16's and I think that there is absolutely no way they can fit and low and behold they do! It is totally weird. Today I am wearing 14/16 pants, but when I look in the mirror, or see my shadow I still see my big fat old self... I know, I know I look different now than I did 4 1/2 months ago... but it still looks the same. Again, totally weird. I heard that some people go through that, well add another because I'm one of them.
Life goes on.... the weight still drops..... I can't wait to see how I'm feeling in another 4 1/2 months!

When I went out to lunch, everyone was all oogles about how thin I look. I'm thinking they're just being nice. But they reassured me that after 4 weeks since they last saw me, I have changed, most noticeably in the face. My cheek bones are showing according to the a dozen or so people who saw me. I say I'll notice the weight change when my boobs stick out further than my stomach!

I wore one of the new size 10 dresses today and got a ton of compliments. It fit really good except where my bat wings are. I am working on them though. I need to go get containers to put all the other clothes in for the next clothing exvhange or until somebody tells me they need them. I have a real nice yellow dress size 20w that I wore once. I just had it cleaned if anyone needs any size 20 dresses for work I have a few that are nice for summer (not to hot).
