Hey Sweetie - call your surgeon's office and talk to the nurse. This is NOT normal! You are probably dehydrated and not getting in enough calories to keep you going... What sort of things are you managing to get in?

I lived on sugar free pudding with Unjury mixed in my first few weeks post-op...

Worried about you!

I'm with Katie call and talk to your surgeon. You very well could be dehydrated. Take care of yourself and call right away.

My response would be that I agree with your Dr. It is normal. Most of us had a hard time meeting the requirements early on, and most of us had varying forms of dizziness due to dehydration. All I can say is stick with it, stay positive, and continue getting into a habit of drinking throughout the day, and most importantly, making sure you're hydrated before you go to bed.

It will get better. But a lot of that is mental and only you can help that along.

i agree with your doc and David. I had the same thing with me. I would say continue to get the 64 oz in a day and drink extra before bed as well. The tiredness will go away soon and make sure your still doing your walking

Girl.... I am sorry you are having a hard time but I really do think its normal... I swear I felt terrible the first 2 weeks... but that because it was surgery ... not just this surgery.. the third week will get better.... just rest as much as you can ... I didnt start feeling better till about week 5 .... and then at week 7 the intense pain in my left side that I am fighting right now.... but now thats subsiding and things are getting better .... I will be honest this journey is different for everyone so just take it easy and rest as much as possible .. worry about the water its the most important thing right now.... your body needs water to continue to function so do your best with that .... but just know it does get better .. even the pain in my side is better than what I went through the first 2 weeks.....

sounds like dehydration to me.

I'd have some juice, diluted of course - or a fitness drink....Gatorade, diluted, would be good b/c of the electrolytes and so forth.

Get some broth also, you should be able to tolerate it better than food.

you need nourishment and WATER

Our bodies go through a detox I think....it's normal.

fluids, fluids, fluids. And make the best choices you can

Default Fatigue and fluids

I had the same symptoms you have now, but mine happened about 3 weeks post opp. I think this is normal, with one exception. Make sure you drink all the fluids you can tolerate, and then some. When you are tired and not hungry or thirsty, you don't feel like drinking your fluids. I got dehydrated, and this definitely added to my fatigue. When I got back on track with the fluids, things changed for the better in several days.
