Default Normal to be persistantly nauseous??

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site, I found it while searching for support because I just had my surgery 16 days ago. My question is, is it normal to have been persistantly nauseous for 3 days straight along with diarrhea? (sorry to be gross) I'm on my soft foods but I haven't been able to get much of anything in, including water. (which I know is bad) I just don't know if I should wait it out or call the doctor.... I've lost almost 25 pounds in those 16 days, which I'm not complaining about but I'm not sure if it is healthy to lose that much so fast....

Default Nausea

No, it is not normal to have nausea that long. Does that include voimiting? They have meds they can give you to relieve it. You should be able to eat and you must be able to drink! Please call your doc and advise that you are sick. He will help you. I hope you feel better soon.

Default

Sorry, my name is Jennifer. It hasn't consisted of vomitting just diarrhea and nausea. I had part of a baked potato for lunch and thus far it hasn't given me any problems. Hopefully whatever it was is done and over with. However if I still feel this way tomorrow I WILL call the doctor. I've had a few people come up to me at work saying I looked pale and sick so I guess that is my indication to go to the doctor. *chuckle*

Default You're back at work already?!

Jennifer,

Did I read your post correctly? Are you back at work already after only 16 days? That is really soon to be back working. Did your doctor release you? How is your nausea doing? Hopefully, it's gone or you got some medicine. I am not a doctor, but maybe you are feeling sick because your body is trying to mend, but is unable to because of work.
