Default 2 weeks out, wow moment, questions lol

hi all
I am 2 weeks post op from Lap Gastric Bypass and feeling FABULOUSSSSS !!
I had my first woo hoo moment last night, and had to tell someone lol
My BF is in a band and plays local clubs on the weekends here in NJ.
Last night was the first time i went to see him play in like a month....wasnt feeling like going out much for a few weeks b4 surg. So i got to see all the band people and their families last night and everyone commented on how different i looked...WOOOO HOOOOOO lol i lost 27 pounds in the past month and i guess it is starting to show. I dont see it....welll.....cause its me and i see me everday lol I was just so happy and had to share.
Now i have 2 questions for all you post op been there's done that's...
1st...hair loss when you say hair loss, how significant of a hair loss are you talking? Is it like giant clumps that leave bald spots? I have ALOT of hair and spend alot of time taking care of it and it is down to my butt and i am SOOOOOO scared that i am going to lose it... I am taking all my vitamins every day and making sure that i drink 64oz of fluids and have around 60 grams of protein per day(food and powder) HELP
2nd....allittle more personal-ish lol i went to mushy food recently and have had things like a scrambled egg or tuna salad or mashed pots i know we arent taking in alot of food...so the "ouput" aint gonna be the same as pre-op but i am going like every 3 days. which was fine. but now that i have had mushy's i couldnt keep out of the bathroom all day yesterday. once i went the first time....it was like it triggered a disaster !!! lol
i know my plumbing has all new things going on, i just wanted to make sure that this is a temporary thing....i start work tomorrow lolllll !!!!
sorry for the long post but wanted to get it all in one post.
PS....i love you guys you have been my guide and information booth for the past few months.....so thank you all
Michele

might I add..you look fabulous too?

Hair loss is a mixed bag. If you keep your protein levels up and make sure you're getting biotin in your vitamins, you stand the best chance of keeping that beautiful head of hair. But it varies from person to person, some will lose none, some a little, and some more than others.

Hey pretty lady! Congrats on your first wow moment! How awesome that people are already being so supportive. Enjoy it!

I have a TON of hair in that it is thick enough to share with 3 people. I started losing hair around 3.5 months out, and then I started taking extra Biotin vitamins. I don't know if that helped or if it just started tapering off naturally, but around month 6.5 it slowed down to normal amounts. I didn't lose in clumps at all, but sort of all over so you really could not tell at all by looking. In fact, it just made it a bit easier to manage, since like I said, I have a TON of hair. Now it is growing back and NOW it is more noticeable since I have these inch long hairs growing back in all over so they stick up a bit. I just smooth them down with silkener or a bit of hair spray so they don't stick up so much, LOL!

As for the bathroom thing...sorry, not sure what to tell you. I tend towards the opposite problem of constipation. I take stool softeners every day. I do suggest that you call your surgeon's office. The nurses there should have advice on this sort of thing. Try not to worry unless the problem lasts more than a couple of days, though.

my nut told me that your hair reacts to things in your diet 3 months ago. So, I think, if that is correct, if at any time you are not getting the protein you need, 3 months from that time you'll notice hair loss.

Congratulations on your wow moment

The hair loss was noticable to only me...and my hunny who showers the same place I do. LOL. It did seem like a heck of a lot of hair to me...but even my hairdresser didn't notice.

The poop situation is pretty normal. Give it a bit and things should slow down in that department. Good luck!
