Default First taste of "Real Food"

Boy its been 5 weeks since any "Non liquid" has entered my mouth, the doctor cleared us (my wife and I) to start puree's . Well last night we went shopping for our new diet foods. When we got home I made my wife 1 scrambled egg w 1 peice of cheese ( 2oz total ), she was in heaven! I, on the other hand had 1/2 string cheese, it was good. Well this morning I made an omelet w cheese (3.2 oz) and it was sooooo good. I got maybe 1/2 half in before I stopped. I do not know why I stopped, just didnt feel like eating it any longer. That is so weird, the old me would have just continued to eat because there was some left!!!! I am quite satisfied and my pouch is feeling fine! I can hardley wait to taste lunch, 2 oz sweet potato puree w/ lima beans total weight is 3.4oz!!! I feel absolutly giddy!!!!:

It truly is such a strange sensation in the beginning when you can eat such a tiny amount and be completely satisfied. It was strange for me too, I totally understand what you are saying. Congratulations to you are your wife, your journey is going to be fantastic and full of "wow" momments.

It is possible to have this surgery, and still enjoy food. It will teach you moderation. It sounds like you enjoy cooking which I think is a huge plus. I can control what goes in my mouth so much better when I make it. Savor all of those flavors.

I'm supposed to start soft foods 7-10 days after surgery. You couldn't until one month? I wonder why docs/nuts are so different!
