I can't answer why, but I was told by the doctor that did my RNY that somethings you can eat and then the next time you eat it you can't tollerate it. I don't know why perhaps as others have said you are having a Pi...y pouch today. Sure hope you feel better soon. I've found that if you go and lay down for a while after an hour or so it usually passes. Take care. <<HUGS>>

Oh the wonderful world of dumping...hope you're feeling better now. Funny thing is - you could eat it again tomorrow, and be fine. Weird

Aw! Dumping sucks major tail, I *think* i had it twice so far - but it was on stuff i am normally acceptable with..I'm very sorry to hear you had to go thru that!

first time was with shredded steam carrots - after i ate i had it comming up on me, and i had to force up the food i just ate so i wouldnt feel the discomfort..

second time was with shredded turkey, i think i didnt chew it enough and it made me quite uncomfortable for 2 hours, so again i had to force myself to hack up my dinner. really gross.

I have no answers to why it happens, Kel...I just know it happens. You may find that your pouch will be a little pissy for awhile now. Just take it easy and go back to the soft mushy stuff for a day or so then slowly progress it again. I would stay away from the offending food for a few weeks before you try it again, if you dare. My first dumping episode happend with Salmon early postop and I STILL refuse to try it...it made me that sick. *L*

After reading your reply I too have to wonder if maybe you had something "stuck" and not dumping. Either way I agree with Beth, let your poor little pouch rest. Warm fluids usually made me feel better the next day. Hope today is a better day!

No, I don't think it was stuck.. just a knifing pain in my gut, nausea, foamies and vomiting. I didn't have the heart palpation or dizziness, though.. foamies? GROSS

I have had this happen several times. It usually would happen with leftovers, don't ask me why. I can tolerate the food the first time but try and eat it again and no way. I have made it clear that I will no longer eat left overs.
