I have also found that leftovers can be a problem, depending on what it is... These weren't leftovers that I had a problem with on the second time around, though.
Because I mostly live on my own, and I don't tolerate LO very well, what I have been doing is putting all my food in single serving size packages once I get home from the grocery store and then cooking each meal individually (if cooking is involved, anyway.) This makes figuring out dinner a bit easier on a work night.. I have a bit of a commute and I'm tired when I get home..I don't really want to have to *think* about my meals at all on weeknights.
Today, I have been taking it very easy with my food.. Just not really interested in eating anyway. I had a protein smoothie for both breakfast & lunch.. and I think I'm just going to do the same again for dinner. Safer that way

Ciao Kel,
Sorry to hear about your unpleasant moment. I would agree that something got stuck as you had the same symtons that I had when I was stuck, especially the foaming and vomiting sensation as well as the sharp pain. Dumping for me was somewhat different, nausia, heart race, hot flash, stomach upset and or diahrea.
I think you are wise to due your protein and liquids and I can totally relate to the lack of interest in eating after one of the "bad moments". Try again tomorrow with soft foods(cottage cheese, yogurt, even pureeing veg and chicken or meat and potatoes can be not so bad to swallow.
Hope that this proves to be just a rare incident for you Kel.

Ew Leftovers
I think left overs are difficult because when they get reheated they get dry and dry = bad with my pouch! It's especially bad with chicken. Anyway, I have had several episodes of sickness following a meal that wasn't chewed enough or just something that didn't agree with me. I don't think this is dumping, though. I think I have almost dumped a time or two - one was last night. I was experimenting with some new protein I am trying - it has 2 grams of sugar and I mixed it with milk and peanut butter. Must have been just a smidge too many grams of the sweet stuff cause I felt queasy, heart racing, and crampy - not fun. Will be more careful with that new protein next time. It's good to know my limits, though, and I feel better knowing that I can't indulge on that sweet stuff even if I want to.

What you described is not dumping, but overeating, eating too fast or something getting stuck. Dumping is a physiological/metabolic thing that causes palpatations, sweating, fatigue, sometimes nausea and diarrhea and light headedness due to swings in sugar/insulin levels and food and water entering the GI tract.
Not physical pain.
The joy of GBP, it keeps you on your toes.

Hi Dyann, I thought I'd posted an update after my last doc/nut appointment but I guess I didn't. It seems you all were correct.. it wasn't dumping. From the conversation with the Nut, it appears I've not dumped (yet?).. so I didn't know the difference. We decided it was probably something stuck, perhaps not chewed thoroughly.. Man, o' MAN that hurt Not interested in a repeat performance.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've been doing dumping research and I wasn't sure what was happening to me exactly. My nutritionist told me, but I couldn't get a handle on her explanation. I actually had dumping confused with drinking with meals.
What I experienced twice was a bit of nausea which I believed was due to some slightly stuck food. I can't seem to handle 'left overs' either.
However, I did experience palpatations, but just palpatations, none of the other stuff... I don't think it was dumping either, just anxiety over that slightly stuck feeling.
I guess what you're saying is that when it's dumping, you will truly know that it's dumping ?!?
