Sasha,
Deborah is right - you cannot compare your loss to anyone else. There are so many things that affect us - age, starting weight, diet, sex, level of activity etc., you'll end up driving yourself nuts worrying about how you're doing compared to others.
I started my journey at 259.5lb (BMI 43.2) and managed to lose 35lb in 12 weeks pre-surgery. Many have asked why, if I was able to lose that sort of weight on my own, then why did I need surgery.
Well - fact is, I am a wonderful dieter. So good in fact that I've spent virtually every year for the past 30 years being on a diet for 6 months and then the other six months of the year, I put it all back on (and some).
I knew how to diet (badly) - I knew how not to diet (very well) - I simply didn't get to grips with eating sensibly inbetween.
So - that's the reason why I wasn't a great deal heavier to start with. The down side is that all those years of yo-go dieting have taken their toll.
Although I didn't start out as heavy as you, at 2 1/2 months I had lost 28.8lb. That's a long way from what you lost but I wasn't unhappy with it and neither should you be. What you are doing is working for you so keep it up and don't worry about what everyone else is doing.
