Default 1st Post-Op

2 1/2 weeks post-op. Never had any pain, in hospital or home, off 3 out of 4 blood pressure meds, off insulin, walking about 3/4 mile a day (length of trail at park near my home). Not great energy level, but not bad. OK with protein liquid, protein soups really yucky but edible. Lost about 40 lbs. (100 or so more to go). NO PROBLEMS!

Is this normal? I'm waiting for my head to fall off or something.

Love and Peace

Horray! Congrats on the weight loss!
Sounds like you're doing very well!

You are very normal. There will be dips, but don't go looking for them or they will find you. When something comes along, just know that it happens, deal with it and go on.

You were probably expecting it to be so hard because most people post here looking for support when they hit a bump in the road, I know I did!

Again, congratulations! Keep up the good work!

I am also 2 1/2 weeks out, not a lot of energy, not a lot of exercise without any pain relief from the fricken arthritis, but the energy levels are in the crapper!!

I bumped the B-12 and it helped a little!

MONEY IN THE BANK TO DATE......$360
This is the running amount of money saved by not having to spend so much eating out. Number based on spending $20 a day on food. And that very conservative!!!

sounds like both of you are doing awesome! B-12 is a great idea, it always helped me a lot (and still does)!
Congratulations to you both!

Don't feel guilty for having a smooth recovery! It's true that many people only post here when they're having problems, and we're definitely here for support, but we're also here to share success as well. It sounds like you're doing great so far. Wish I could tell you that it will always be easy, but there's no way to know that. If what you're doing is working, then keep it up. Best of luck to you!

NOT NORMAL TO LOSE 40 pounds in 2.5 weeks! I'm envious! LOL!

Glad you're doing so well... my recovery was pretty smooth too - what a blessing, huh? No, your head won't be falling off --- your skinny little neck will keep it attached...

RevRuss you "cracker me up" as my 6-year-old would say. I am less than a week post op (surgery 5/8) and like you I've been complication and pain free (never even took any pain meds after 2 days post op). I too have been waiting for the problems to hit. Thanks for posting this so I can benefit from the feedback of others. Continued good luck!
