Default 2nd cycle, completely different

Ok, here I am with my 2nd cycle since the Lap R&Y I had on 03/20/08 and
this time it's super heavy!

I am also noticing small blood clots passing as well. Not even dime size but more stringy like in nature. I honestly don't have a clue why but this is starting to scare me a little.

Like going through 1 napkin in 2 hours heavy. I've called my Ob/Gyn today and told them. I was told to monitor things til tomorrow and if it's still like that in the morning they want me to go into their office by the afternoon.

Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas? Any possible reasons?

pretty gross, huh?

My periods tend to be like this now, pre-op. The stringy clots that you're passing are actually the pieces of the uterine wall that were lined and is being shed quickly.

When mine is bad like that.. it almost reminds me of what a miscarriage must be like. And it'll be really super heavy like that where i can't even leave the bathroom for about an hour or 2 then calm down.

Hopefully yours too shall pass!

Hey Monica, I had PCOS before surgery and rarely ever got my periods. Just 2 days after surgery I started menstrating and it was thick and heavy/clotty, just as you've described. It also lasted a loooong time.
I made an appointment with my gyno just in case anyway, I'll keep you updated on any information I find.

I'm also interested because you're about the same weight as I was pre surgery.

Thanks Crie for your thoughts.

Pineapple, I am going into my Ob/Gyn this morning to let them know how my progress was on keeping track of the issue and they want me to go in today at 3:00 p.m. and so I am making it I need to get some answers. I don't want to stay like this all weekends. A normal flow sure, but not this.

Yeah I just noticed that we are more or less the same weight. *smiles* Nice to meet you.

Crie!! I'm In the same boat. We talked earlier about this. It does remind me what a miscarriage must be like. Its getting really old!! (my bf also thinks so!) The other day I had spotting so bad all of sudden it took all my energy! so weird... Is there anything I can do??? Have you tried anything? I hope it passes...

well the doctor seems to think that with the hormonal changes after surgery that it might even itself out!

So i'm just sitting here hoping.. and i've been spotting off and on heavy/light since i started my 2 week liquids. I still have no idea about what to do if i'm spotting or have my period during the surgery.

Any nurses with some help here would be great. If you're menstruating or spotting and have that whole catheter thing.. how would that work? because the flow (lack of better word) varies, i've never been one that can use tampons.

This is probably my biggest concern at the moment for the surgery next week

I am sorry but I really don't know what if anything they would do. I would like to think that if that issue were to arise it wouldn't be a first time for them and they would accomodate you. :/

Also, wouldn't you know that as I had my appt. set my cycle tapered off dramatically and is back to 'normal' flow for me. It figures, this always happens to me. As soon as I sound the alarms or get all crazy over something it has to start behaving as if to prove me wrong or crazy to others. :P

Ah well, I guess it's better than something being wrong. Right?
