Awwwwww.... what a strong woman you are to admit to your own stupidity! And to share your experience as a lesson to all of us!

Now that you've been scolded - and are starting to feel better, keep up with the supplements! And keep us posted on your progress!

SUPER HUGS!!!

to a newly wise-woman!

So after being scorned to hell by my surgeon, who clearly once again outlined how I could end up paralized and/or dead if I dont stick to my end of the deal.

I'm so glad you are on the path to good health again. It's easy to forget taking the vitamins. I have never missed a day, but have missed a dose. I'm supposed to take the Bariatric Advantage twice a day, and sometimes miss that 2nd dose. I've never taken additional iron, because my labs were always good, but now that's changed, so I'm taking the slow fe. I work for a GI practice, so of course when they saw my labs, they want me scoped. So, next Thursday Mama is going in for a Colonoscopy and an EGD! The double whammie!!! I'm sure it wasn't easy to hear the lecture from the surgeon, but now you know what needs to be done and you will move forward and do the right things. I thnk once we lose the weight and are feeling good, we forget we are "special" and require special care. Take care of yourself and I hope you are back to 100% soon.

We did some problem solving for taking vitamins in the last few weeks in my support group. One thing that several of us have started to do is to set daily reminders on our cell phones in the calendar. Mine rings 3 times a day to help me remember. I'm getting a LOT better about taking my vitamins after being REALLY bad about it over the past couple of months. It's all about finding a system that works for you. Also it takes 30 days to create a habit so give it time and if you forget a set of pills don't beat yourself up. Just pick it up and try harder the next day.

MONEY IN THE BANK TO DATE......$360
This is the running amount of money saved by not having to spend so much eating out. Number based on spending $20 a day on food. And that very conservative!!!

Default Re: Vitamins

Thank goodness you are ok and everything has turned out ok for you.

I am pre-op and already take vitamins for osteo arthritus, so I am hoping my surgeon will guide me in the right direction once I am post op.

Just goes to show how drastic this surgery really is....you can never take your eye off of the ball!! That might be an English expression, so forgive me, it just means keep focused and play by the rules Honey.

God bless you.
