Just a suggestion. Try breaking that "normal" routine. A bunch of us just did the 5DPT. That will really confuse your body. The first 2 days are liquids, then soft protiens, then solid protiens. Although it is not a "diet" to lose weight, but rather to get in touch with your pouch, most averaged at least 3 pounds, and I think some were 8-9 pounds.

I too feel your pain of the weight issue. I've yo-yoed back and forth over the last few years. I had initially lost down to 134, then went up to 149, then maintained 125-130, last year was down to 119 and am at 131 now. Like a couple of the others have said, I will not accept this, I worry all the time and analyse what I'm doing in my life. I know I need to cut back on the calories and to get more exercise. But where is that darn motivation hidding? I can't find it anywhere!

I refuse to buy bigger clothes! So I guess it's time to get on the ball and do something about it. Thanks for your post. Best wishes.

Sharon

my surgeon says between 60-80% excess weight but he also says if you DONT excersize you WONT loose all your excess weight. I think everyone's body and metabolisms are different. I'm VERY nervous that i wont get to my goal weight but i think the docs tell us about the percentages so you wont expect too much or be dissappointed if you dont loose it all. I know several people that only lost like 60 pounds or one gal went from 500 pounds to 250 pounds and has stopped loosing after 3 years. so i am nervous because of that

I am just over 2 years out and go up and down about 4 pounds or so. It scares the crap out of me...almost to the point of obsessive and thats not good either. Its hard to change our diets as we eat so much of the same thing and choices that are good for us. What I did find is the snacking for me does not work. I schedule in a snack, sometimes 2 outside of my meals, but thats it. It keeps me in check. Its SO MUCH harder now to loose even 2 pounds. My body likes where it is and as long as I respect it, hopefully it will stay there. Boost up the exercise, keep up the fluids, look at choices and just keep following the rules. I went back to my food diary to look at patterns too.

we do what we can to keep things real, sometimes its not what people like to hear unfortunately. One thing that bothers me is people who make excuses to gain weight. Its science for God sake. If you were predispostioned to weight 160 pounds, then when you had youre WLS thats where one would have stayed. Not go down to 120, to jump up 40 pounds. It doesnt make sense. I truly believe that some people have the body type that wont allow for "thinness" I know people who had WLS got down to a size 12-14 and stayed there and couldnt be happier. Those peoples arent made to be a size 4,6 or 8. But when you get down to 4, you have to FIGHT to stay a 4.

I can accept a 10 pound weight gain or fluctuation, but more than that is a lack of responsibilty to oneself. I know Melanie and I like her very much, Im not trying to pick on her at all. We all make mistakes, but few own up to them. Lots of people think of the shouldve, wouldve couldve moments... few do anything about them though!

Good luck to you on your journey!

Oh and about Jenni, I always get in her ass about things, then I moved away... Jenni its only distance but Im gonna do my best to keep you on the good foot. Hey what do you think of the East County Support Group Confrence call support meeting?

Hi, Jennie--walking an hour a day is great! And something else that might help is doing some strength-training. Just 10-15 minutes of lifting, 2-3 times a week, can make a HUGE difference. It's good to change things up, once in a while, because our bodies get used to what we're doing--we need to keep them guessing!
Best,
Anita

I am 26 months out and I haven't gained. I REFUSE to. I worked to damn hard to get where I am. Yes, I fluctuate within a 4 lb range (up and down) but in reality, we all do. If I stop fluctuating I will then get my ass to work and get those lbs. off. If you want to keep it off you will do what you need to do so.
